Your Value and Your Past
KNOW YOUR VALUE
Someone in a crowd stands up waving a $10 bill around above his head. This is total stranger and he is asking, “Does anyone want this $10 bill?” Cautiously and suspiciously the gathered crowd looks around at each other with the expression of disbelief. Some spectators even ask, “Is this for real, what’s the catch, who is he talking to?” You walk closer to the stranger and someone nearby boldly yells, “Yes! I would like that $10 bill.” The stranger smiles and asks the bold man, “Why do you want this money?” His response is, “If I took that $10, I will have more money when I leave than I did before I met you.” Again, the generous donor smiles and says, “What if I told you this $10 bill was used in the past to buy drugs, child pornography, illegal guns, or as payment for someone’s death. Do you still want this $10 bill?” The bold man places his hand on his chin, rubs it for a few seconds, and then says, “Yes, I still want the $10 bill.” The stranger with the $10 bill approaches the bold man and asks, “Why, why do you still want this money when you know in the past caused pain, regret, resentment and even death?” The bold man simply states, “It’s still worth $10 regardless, and I will use it for something good.” The stranger smiles as he hands over the $10 bill and says, “You are right. All your life you have been told what a $10 bill looks like. No matter where you use this money, it will be recognized and worth $10 regardless of its past and its outward appearance changing from new and crisp to torn, soiled, and wrinkled. You still want this $10 bill and do not judge it’s worth based on its past mistakes or its outward appearance because you and everyone gathered around still know this bill is worth $10.”
Now, consider this. Only the creator of the $10 bill can define its value as 10 dollars. In the same manner, only the official manufacturer or creator of something can label and assign a VALUE to his/her creation. If you are not the original and official CREATOR of something, you can try to alter the design (counterfeit) but you can not take away the true value of the original product or creation. Consequently, who has the right to tell you what your VALUE is as a person? If you accept money regardless of its past or it's current appearance, then why not accept yourself and others without judgement based on past mistakes/lessons or outward appearances?
Know your own VALUE
Learn from mistakes but don‘t let mistakes take away any from your personal VALUE
Do not judge yourself or others based on the past because what is behind you does not define you or your WORTH.
TODAY is a VALUABLE gift and only YOU can unwrap it and make it WORTH living!
I hope you have a great weekend and success in all your endeavors!

Hello Shawna,
I love your post! Knowing your own value is incredibly important because no one else can tell us what we are worth. I mean people can tell us all they want, but if we do not believe in ourselves, it is useless.
Have a delightful weekend!
