I went from Shophistic Lite (which is free) to Shophistic (which is pro, and much nicer). Wordpress sends me all these zip files, in my download file, and I do not have a clue

If it is your own domain, first try to upload the zip file itself through WP admin, without extracting it. WP will automatically unzip the zip file for you during the process. Make sure the file has the .zip extension.

I don't know why you have many zip files. You should have one main zip file with a .zip extension that contains your theme files. It could be that your computer has already extracted the zip folder for you and that is why you are seeing so many files.

Or maybe the theme creator knows it is a big file and has provided smaller .zip files so you can upload them via WP admin.

There is a size limit for uploading, so unless your zip file is larger than the limit, you can upload it from within WordPress admin.

1. Go to > Appearances > Themes > Add a New Theme

2. Select the option to Upload the theme .zip from your computer It can take a little time for the system to unpack the zip it if it is a big file. Be patient and wait until you get a timeout or error message.

THE ABOVE WOULD BE THE EASIEST WAY TO DO IT

If you get a timeout message, then you will need to upload the files via FTP. In that case, yes, you will need to transfer the extracted files (not the .zip) via FTP.

Here is training on that: Post again if you need more help. Good luck.

Thanks so much for the help. I had to go the Filezilla route, would not work any other way. Up at the top of the Filezilla page, there are boxes that need to be filled in:
Host, Username, Password
Then you hit quick connect
I am getting a message that says:
Could not connect to server. What do I do now? Thank you

Hi, Sorry to bug you. I got another message that says:
Insecure server, it does not support FTP over TLS. Thank you

Don't worry about the FTP over TLS message. That is not relevant.

I use FileZilla and have never had a problem and I get that message too.

For your host, you have to insert your domain,

eg. ftp://domainname.com

As for FTP and Username you get ithat from Site Domains.

Click on the icon that says "details" and you will see it there. These are assigned to you by WA.

Refer to the attached screenshot.

This should help

Thank you so much for your help. I had to go the Filezilla route, nothing else would work. Now I am getting could not connect to server message. Any suggestions? Thank you so much

Put in a support ticket. They can probably arrange the connection for you.

Yeah, I did that once with a plugin, and they were very supportive. The Site Support guys here are very supportive.
