I just upgraded to premium. Wow. So many feelings.

I am feeling excited!
I test drove WA for a few days, and I am amazed at the platform. There is so many tools, and resources available for me, to help me on my journey to realizing my goals. My dreams. But, at the same time, the community support available. People who are not getting paid by WA, offering help and assistance to others. It is the WA community, that made me jump, and commit to moving forward with WA.

I am also feeling nervous.
It is now up to me, to grab what is in front of me, and move ahead while battling all those "what if" thoughts. What if I don't choose the right niche? What if I spend thousands of hours plugging away, and not see a dime?

What if I ask for help?
And that is why I became a premium member of WA. Because I am able to reach out, and put those "what ifs" at rest, and move forward with my journey.

"A journey of a thousand miles, starts with a single step."

And I just made that single step.

Hey Todd, congrats on going premium! I can definitely relate (as I think most of us can) with the "what if" thoughts.

As far as niche, I chose the wrong the niche when I started and it turned out not to be a big deal. My first WA website (I had a website before joining WA) was in the "better sleep" niche and the benefits of sleep.

Although I was interested in the topic, it turned out to be a way more serious research than I anticipated and triple checking to make sure my facts were correct. The thing is, I learned so much when I did that, switching to a new niche was very easy and I had way more insight into what I was doing.

And even then I've learned. At one time I had a dozen websites and 2 - 3 dozen domains. I thought I was finally going in the right direction and learning more I ended up shutting down my first money-making website after 6 months and changed direction again (within the same niche).

After another year I switched domains, rebranded and refined my direction a little more.

I guess my point in all of that is to try not to worry about getting it perfect from the start. It's a journey and learning a process and you'll have many enlightened moments along the way (and if you're like me, many "facepalm... what was I thinking" moments, LOL).

When it comes to time invested, again, it's really a matter of perspective. Of course, making money is the ultimate goal but if it's "only" the money it can be difficult to stay motivated. There is more value in the experience and skills you acquire.

For example, if someone decided to learn how to play the guitar simply because they wanted to make money with it one day... it's going to be a painful journey and chances are, they'll quit long before they ever learn to play well enough they actually make money at it.

The same could be said about med school or becoming an athlete for example.

That's why we recommend a niche you have a passion or interest for because making money online is not really a "job" you do for money, but rather a skill/education you acquire coupled with experience that "you use" to make money online.

Not sure if that makes sense but hopefully it provides a little insight.

This is also a rare skill and once you're getting the hang of things you realize that you know more than 90% of all business owners about how to market a business.

A good side business is to pick up clients (small businesses or professionals) and build their websites and do some digital marketing on the side. I've done that for people without even looking for it. They don't want to do it and they don't care to learn but if they know you can do it, they'll often ask. I've turned down people who wanted me to manage their social media stuff because social media just isn't my thing... but it's a good income for those who want it and there's a ton of that kind of training here.

I do have a client who pays me 30/hr just to do some monthly maintenance on their site (which I built or them and host here at WA) and update pages for pricing or service changes, etc.

Again... hopefully that provides a better overall picture and puts some of your worries to rest.

Don't hesitate to reach out when you need something :-)

Hi Super Todd!

Welcome to the best online business University on the planet!
You're gonna do fine Todd, especially with a name like "Super".
It made me chuckle when I read this sentence:
"What if I spend thousands of hours plugging away, and not see a dime?"

Never forget Todd, that the only time you ever waste those hours is if you sit in front of the TV eating corn chips and getting fat and lazy.
But that'll never happen to you cause you're different, you've shown that by starting your adventure here, amongst like-minded individuals.

Onwards and upwards my friend!

Cordially
Dedo

Thanks for the encouragement Dedo! I appreciate it. :)

Congrats Todd,

Welcome home.

Blessings!

Thank you! :)

Awesome Todd! Glad to see you go Premium. I love the quote there. This is definitely the start to hopefully something bigger than you're hoping for!
