MEDIUM: What are the PUBBLICATIONS? (and why you should apply for them)

Well, my journey on MEDIUM has started since three days, and I am honestly excited about it!

I can see a lot of BENEFITS in building your personal brand on Medium:

• good index by Google
• monetize your stories (you need to apply to Partner Program, 5 dollars/month)
• you can grow your personal brand and authority in your niche
• it is a social media (so you can connect with other collegues or followers in your same niche)

You can ask why doing this on Medium when you could write on YOUR BLOG.

Well, the answer is simple. If you write on your blog, you need to convey a lot of traffic by yourself, while in Medium, you are exposed to a greater traffic and people (that later you can send to your own site)

When you enter in Medium's world, you need to understand how to expose your content to a broader audience and one of this method is applying to PUBBLICATIONS.

PUBBLICATIONS are a sort of curated magazines around a theme/niche:

• you need to apply before writing on it
• once you are accepted as writer, you can publish your story (blog post) in the pubblication
• your story will appear on the feed of all the pubblication's followers
• your personal brand will grow
• you can make connections with the other writers of the same pubblication
• the story published on the pubblication will be visible on your profile too

Since I am building my personal brand around Painting Niche, I have applied to an Artistic Pubblication for first and accepted the same day, but other pubblications are more difficult to get accepted and have strict rules for the application.
