Keeping focus on the one thing that will make you successful!
Just the other day I received an e-mail which I found very useful so I thought I should share its main message with you as well as adding another idea I got from it.
All of us at WA (or at least the vast majority) are here because we want to make money. We want to make more money and thus get more freedom to do whatever we like. Many of us would like to quit our jobs altogether and live on what we can make from our websites.
So far so good. So we enroll here, choose a niche, start a website and we are off trying to make money from it by posting posts and pages with affiliate links or by putting ads on the site.
Often when trying to monetize our sites (this is mentioned in the training here at WA) we tend to forget the visitor and focus on how we are going to make money of them. This is all kind of natural as we are here to make money but like Kyle said: We are in the business of helping. By helping our visitors to solve their problems (whether they buy something of you or not) we are creating the foundations for success.
So focus on your visitors, not on yourself and what you want to get. If you create a website that your visitors really like then the money is going to follow and you will reach your goals.
One idea might be to put yourself in your visitors shoes. Think of a problem or question you have (could be related to your website or not) for example: which is the best electric shaver or "how do I loose 10 pounds in two weeks". Google it and check out the search results and then see if you could find a page or post you find particularly helpful. Then you can compare this to a post on your own site and thus get an idea if your posts will please your visitors.
This might be obvious information to many of you but I thought I reminder could be useful. It is soo easy to forget that the focus should be on our visitors and not on making money.

This is very good advice. Someone drops by the site for a reason. Its important to capture that visit and engage the person through whatever the reason is. If nothing else, it makes folks less suspicious of the website and more open to looking around. Thanks for this post.
Hi Jojo, Thanks for sharing this, I am only a newcomer here, and I certainly agree with your thoughts, and yes I clearly remember that comment / quote from Kyle,
The irony is I am half way through a blog post with the headline,
It's not about the MONEY MONEY MONEY,
( I will post the finished version tomorrow night)
But in a nutshell, build a foundation, do your best to give someone a reason to want to visit your site, then try and keep them engaged, and ideally add a comment,
Then to quote your words,
"money is going to follow and you will reach your goals".
