And man has that time flown, where the heck did all that time go? Anyway, I wanted to give an update on how to be really successful here at Wealthy Affiliate! Except.... I'm not. I'm one of those people who have to do it the wrong way first. And I'm not through the wrong-way phase of my progress yet.

Oh, sure I've made my first dollar, I've had a couple people sign up, do nothing for a couple of months, and then drop out. I've learned enough to have created a few awesome websites for other people and even have one who pays me to maintain that website every month.

And that doesn't mean a hill of beans. Because I'm still a novice at affiliate marketing.

I wake up in the middle of the night with ideas screaming in my head. I dream of having unfathomable success with my website. I work on it every minute of every day, every chance I get. I've worked through the Online Certification Training and I'm halfway through the Affiliate Bootcamp. But alas, no real success.

It doesn't matter.

I know I will get to that point where I've learned what I need to learn and I'll be experiencing the success I know is possible here because other people have done it, LOTS of other people have stayed on track and worked at it with monumental effort, and made it. I will make it. I KNOW I will make it. No ifs, ands, or buts.

Promise me!

If you are reading this post, that you will NEVER GIVE UP. Giving up should not be in your vocabulary. Never ever ever quit. You are so CLOSE to being at the peak of success. One person summits that peak in three months, another one takes two years. What if absolute success for you will take two and a half years? Three? Is that success any less admirable? Are you going to quit a MONTH before you make it? You have to put your time in! No matter how much it is. The only ones who don't make it, are the ones who quit.

Look at it this way, once you get that plane off the ground, the sky is the LIMIT! You just have to get it off the GROUND!!!

Congratulations and well done on your progress.

Thank you for sharing your journey thus far.

Successes will come at different stages.

I look at this way. Every time I learn something towards my success here at Wealthy Affiliate is a success.

I have looked around the world wide web for years knowing that I could learn to building my online business successfully for years.

I been laughed at saying it is not possible without a heap of money.

Now I am laughing because I am here.

Here's to making it happen in 2019

All the best
Merry Christmas and a happy and successful New Year
Jennifer

Jennifer, all the best to you too, I feel very lucky to have found WA, I'm not ever leaving, and every day I learn something new. Sooner or later, I'm going to learn enough to get it accomplished, because I keep working on it! Merry Christmas and have a great 2019!

Steve

You rock Jada,
John
Merry Christmas

Yes me too Steve

Here's to making it happen in 2019

All the best

I see a lot of newbies publish 5 x 700 word posts and then wonder why they haven't 'made it' yet. A lot of it comes down to mindset.

I don't even start looking at stats until I've got 100 posts and don't really expect anything big to happen until I get to 200. (depends on how competitive your niche is of course).

I'm saying this because I was one of those people (and still am to some extent) that had paralysis by analysis. I would check stats every hour to see if they'd been an upturn yet.

When I look back and see how much time I wasted rechecking Jaaxy site rankings and Google Analytics, I know I'd have been much better off using that time to write new posts instead.

Sorry if this seems a little off topic... I guess what I'm trying to say is see the bigger picture, be in it for the long-haul. Anybody out there struggling and wondering why they haven't got results yet - keep going.

But instead of looking at the time that's passed, look at how many total posts you have, that's how you'll know how close you are to success.

Rant over, I hope this helps someone out there! :)

Simon, great rant! Gives me more info to work on! I better get to writing because I don't have near 100 posts yet! Thanks for getting off topic, otherwise I wouldn't have known!

Steve

Steve,
Putting into words what people do is real!!
And you are right - just because you get a
couple of referrals does that mean to slack off
NO - it means to do more!!
I am not quitting but you have been there and
so have I where we wonder if this worth it?
And then reality comes crashing down and you
know not just in your mind but in your heart
this is the way - good for you keep up the good
job and I am sure 2019 is going to be your year :)
Merry Christmas,
Susan

Susan, thanks for the motivation, I think 2019 is going to be good to me! : ) I really don't wonder, I KNOW this is where it's at!

Steve

Steve, you are right, giving up should not be in our vocabulary in any form of saying that we quit! A quote from Albert Einstein stated, "A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new." I agree, if you get things right the first time you try something new, you have nothing to learn from. Making mistakes is not always a bad thing if you are building on what you learned!
Donnie

Donnie, Great point, I like that! Einstein was right!

Steve

Sounds to me like you have had successes in WA and beyond. While it's not "yet" massive success, you've taken steps that count and that will ultimately lead to larger success. Businesses take time to build. I intend to take my time and keep rolling along and get the plane off of the ground and heading in the right direction. Once that happens, I can turn it in a number of directions based on my target audience's evolving needs. Thanks for the encouragement! :)
Have a Merry Christmas!
Colleen

You too, and let's make 2019 our year!

Steve

hey hi Steve -- thanks so much for articulating my thoughts here in your blog post today as i can relate to what you're sayin'! ...

just too-o interested in all the going's on with life and variety is the spice of life as they say! ....

enjoy a blessed, peaceful, joyous holiday season, cheerio ... 😊

Keisha, have a wonderful holiday too! I think people kinda crawl in their shell and don't want anyone to know they aren't at the top of their game yet, but we all have to go through it to get on top of that game! Just wanted to let other people know not to quit just because they haven't made it yet!

Steve

P.S., I followed you!

.... ah! .... it's all virtual! ... and life is one big rental! .... lol ...

how's that for philosophy?! ...

appreciate the jog on 'followin'-- awful at it ... too many priorities all at the same time and flow goes on, and on....

enjoy and thanks for blogging & posting .... 🎵

You too! Thanks for READING it!

you're most welcome! ... best wishes for 2019! ... 😊

The fact that you have someone that pays you to maintain a site is success. You have made your first dollar another success. You have made it through Online Certification Training and halfway through the Affiliate Bootcamp no small task . I am right there also through oec and halfway through bootcamp. That in of itself is not easy.
Little successes will add to the bigger successes down the road my friend!!
Cathy (cav)

Cathy, you hit the nail on the head, I have lots of successes going for me, very true!

Steve

Thank you I needed to see this it's not that I'm lazy and I definitely have never thought about giving up.

I do understand working at it for a period of time Time and then backing off.

There are times that I draw a blank as far as what to blog about in my one website.

My niche is in art, and my sight is in videos supplies techniques featuring artist different types of art and welcoming every artist out there to share their story and their art.

Anyways I just wanted to say thank you for this post, it encourages me that there are others out there that are sticking to their guns but haven't made it as far as a monetary gain yet.

But I'm like you I can see that there are many in this group who have made quite a significant amount of money doing exactly what we're training and learning how to do.

So I'm not going anywhere even if I can only put in an hour every two days or whatever it is.

Because actually I'm in the process of trying to buy a house, and I'm proposing to my girlfriend with an actual ring this Christmas.

So there's quite a bit going on, but it's not going to stop me in my progress in building my business.

Pete

Pete, you're the kind of person I wanted to reach out to with this post. We're in it, we KNOW it's going to work eventually so don't get discouraged, we're not alone! Have a great Christmas and I hope that ring does the job!

Steve

It did! She said yes!
And yes thank you for the warm wishes.
Best Christmas ever!
Pete

Hi Steve, sounds like just being here and having accomplished what you have is a huge step towards your success. I guess it also depends on how we individually measure our success too. Just being here, pushing through the training and having not given up, is success in a way:)
All the best moving forward!
Cass

Thanks Cass, you're right, all we have to do is keep moving forward! Keep pushing it and we'll make it!

Steve

Great job Stevo!

And you're right, in due time you will take off and the sky will be the limit.

Wishing you great success in 2019.

Greg

Thanks Greg, 2019 is going to hold a lot for me, I can tell! Wishing you success also in 2019!

Steve
