Domain name value
Originally when I heard that business.com sold for about $8M I thought those were like the gold rush days, with the dictionary already taken for single word names.
But I later learned that Marc Ostroffsky was riduculed in the New York Times when he first paid an unprecedented $150K for the name, and spent years branding it before it sold. So it wasn't exactly like finding a gold mine.
Still some domain names have value in themselves and could be sold directly to angel investors. This is called domain name brokering.
But 'm not clear on how much more they are worth with some branding, and what is the right tradeoff if they are only a commercial venture, and not somethihing you keep for enjoyment.
There are online tools that use AI to estimate the auction value of a domain name.

Interesting information. I have checked the "value" of a couple of my sites in the past. Not much value, yet...
