Success comes from Focus and Perseverance
Hi everyone,
Yesterday I had a lovely chat with one of my friends (from my origin country) and in our conversation we caught up with what we have been doing with our lives over the last year.
I was so inspired and happy for him to find out that he recently just bought himself a nice Mercedes-Benz. He sent me some pics of it and it looked totally awesome!
You see, 4 years ago, this friend of mine was at the lowest point in his life. He was not having a good time at his job (as a software salesperson) and he was deep in credit card debt. He is a smart guy with lots of ideas and he decided at that point that he is at the bottom and the only way forward for him was up. He was going to build something for himself.
He negotiated with the banks to repay his credit card debts in small instalments. He took action on one of his business ideas - one that he knew he had contacts with who can link him up with the right people.
His business took off from the get-go. It was hard work (not online business) but he was determined and he was focused.
Fast forward 4 years, he is having the time of his life.
I asked him looking back what he did right... and he said, focus and perseverance.
Decide you want to do something, focus on doing it. Luck comes with having the right people there with you at the right time - from his network of contacts. He shared with me that I am seeing the success but what I did not see was all the issues that came up. That's where perseverance came in - solving issues one at a time.
He also mentioned that he was "lucky" in certain way because he was at the lowest point in his life when he decided enough is enough, and there is nothing to lose by taking action. He might not be doing this today if he was doing well at work or if he was comfortable.
Deciding not to risk it is probably one of the biggest inhibitors to greater success because humans tend to gravitate away from pain and towards pleasure.
That's the nice thing with WA. We are able to build our business without incurring huge risks. We have a community and we have people here that could help us along the journey. All that we need is to Focus and to Persevere.

Yes, that kind of discipline especially if we aren't seeing tangible results is so important!
