Hello to you. :-)

My Wealthy Affiliate experience in a nutshell:

Joined: April, 2016
Completed Training: Online Entrepreneur Certification and Affiliate Bootcamp
Website: Currently working consistently on an affiliate website, have another indexed for later

More Details:

I've been here at Wealthy Affiliate since April, 2016. I've completed all of the training with Kyle for both the Online Entrepreneur Certification and the Affiliate Bootcamp. I also regularly attend the Live Training Classes given by @magistudios (Jay).

And, I make use of the abundance of training on various topics provided by the experienced and expert members of the Wealthy Affiliate community.

I strongly recommend taking the time to work through all of the training carefully. And, as many of us here do, go back over sections as you build out your site and put what you learn into practice.

My background is in teaching, literacy, and writing, including having worked as a content writer. (I eventually decided to put my writing skills to work for me, instead of others.)

But, here's the good news, you don't need a background in writing to build a successful online business. If you can communicate and follow the training, you can make it happen. There are people here at WA who have been quite successful without English even being their first language.

There are several ways that you can approach creating an online business, as the training demonstrates.

I've come to love the WA community. It's a wonderful place to learn, work, network, and make friends. I'm grateful every day that I joined this amazing platform.

The generosity expressed by the owners and community members is second to none. You'll never find a better value for cost or in the sense of community spirit. I hope you enjoy it here as much as I do.

I wish you the very best on your journey!

Thanks for following me, Stella.

I'm new to WA. I went Premium May 4 (Joined April 22). I'm here at WA to learn how to supplement my fixed income.

I went Yearly June 1 2018. I'm excited about dedicating myself for a year. I hope to have the same success you have had with WA. Thanks for writing articles that inspire newcomers to pursue their dreams. You are definitely a marketer to watch. I have added your name to my notebook.

Congratulations for being in the Top 200.

Thanks for reaching out to a newcomer.

All the best,

Louisa

Make sure to follow the training carefully.

I would suggest that when you have completed whichever training you chose first, that you start watching Jay's Live Training under the Live Events tab to the left.

If you can't make it when he is live, all of the sessions are recorded, so you can watch them whenever you want.
I find them very helpful and I always pick up something new.

Stella,

I watch Jay's replays once a week.

One of my favorites is on niche/idea generation. I'm working through my lessons slowly. I have been concentrating on blog comments here and following new and veteran members at WA to drop my ranking into the Top 200.

I'm close at 229 today.

I have also signed up with Disqus to add comments to blogs in which I subscribed.

Right now I'm just increasing my engagement to be a helpful member of the Open Education Project here at WA. All the Best,

Louisa

It's great that you are following Jay's Live Training.

I'm not familiar with Disqus. To be honest, I don't do much outside of Wealthy Affiliate. It really is all you need if you follow the training carefully.

Also, the ranking here is fine if you are interested in it. And it is certainly a good idea to connect with supportive people. But it is very important to remember that the WA ranking has absolutely no bearing on how successful you become online.

My rank is only in the top 200 because I help people if I see an opportunity, and I publish occasionally, but mainly because I've been here over 2 years. It doesn't have any connection to what is happening with my websites. Any success I'm having is directly related to how closely I follow the training and how hard I work to create content with value.

If you want a successful website, the most important thing to do is devote the bulk of your time to writing quality content, with low competition keywords, to attract readers and offer them what they are looking for.

I wish you every success here at WA. It definitely has all you need to get there, and you seem to have a good motivation and work ethic to help you do the necessary work.

Stella,

Disqus is WP plugin where you can share your comments on Facebook, Google+ and their community. It just allows your comments to be interactive on these platforms.

For the beginner, WA ranking has some merit if you are trying to see how active with the community. It lets me know if I'm interacting daily to blog comments, answering questions and following members. I have found the longer my comments are, the better my rankings.

It does impact my success online, because it teaches me to interact with audience. Now that I have three websites targeting three different niches, I'm getting better at asking questions that my audience may respond to.

I must admit I spend more time in the WA community than I do on my websites, because I'm reading the trainings, doing my lessons and responding to blogs.

The time I spend on my website comes when I can write relevant content for my audience. Since my niche is making money online I find the comments at WA to blog posts gives me idea of what my audience is concerned about as I interact with new and veteran members.

I don't try to guess what my audience wants. I write blogs that answer questions that people have asked me personally about making money online.

Since I'm new myself I tell them some of the pitfalls if they have no degree or no experience with technology. It takes time to learn from this community so I tell my audience that time is your biggest asset in learning strategies available at WA.

The bulk of my time recently is setting up a writing routine. To write relevant content involves knowing my audience and understanding what is relevant to them.

I spent my weekend fine tuning one blog post introducing my audience to a handyman that does business in our local area.
I interviewed him about what he wanted to communicate to his customers. This was a lot of information gathering.

The research required to write relevant content takes time. I'm constantly learning more so I can communicate that to my audience.

I'm a sponge. This handyman gave me a quote that I want to practice: Average people listen to reply. Great people listen to understand.

I have found that the more I read blogs on WA i'm understanding what my audience concerns are about finding a community that cares about them being successful.

I really enjoy talking to you, Stella.

All the best,

Louisa

Hi Stella, nice to hear from you. I look forward to getting to know you my new WA friend. Sorry about the huge delay in responding but I am a bit slow at the moment. Trying to do too many things at once.

I see you have a website up and running. You might want to think about putting the links here on your profile page.

You do this by going to the right of your profile page, down to the bottom where it says 'Follow me on' and click on it. Put your website URL and any social media URLs you have (and want to add). This way people like me can hop in, visit and leave a comment. This makes it easier for us to follow you as this will be a direct link. And extra traffic is always welcome.

If you have time I would love it if you visited one of my websites and left a comment on a post, any one will do. The site addresses are fantasy-sci-fi-vision.com and https://workingonthewildside.com.

As soon as you have a website link here let me know so I can return the comment.

Keep working hard, having fun and don’t forget to ask questions.

A very nice boss once told me, ‘Helen, when you ask a silly question everyone else breathes a collective sigh of relief because they don’t have to!’ And that is so true. No question is silly so ask away.

If I can’t help I might be able to point you in the right direction.

Now let us keep in touch.

Ciao

Thanks for the follow Stella and I will do the same. I was a former special needs teacher and also like to write children's short stories. I have thought about being a free lance writer but thinking about it is all I have done. I have written about 15 articles for children but haven't published any of them. Again only thought about it but never followed through. I am changing the "never" now though. I do intend to follow through with this program because I have finally found something that really means a lot to me plus it works. I'm not tech savvy either but I learning within this program.

Tried and true

Hello Elaine;

Yes, this is a great program, and many people have had success here. The writing background will be a big help to you. However, I found that writing for Internet marketing is a bit different than traditional publishing. I had to learn some new techniques.

All the best to you, and let me know if I can help with anything! :-)

Welcome Stella its good to have people like yourself that can give a positive input with your background in teaching, literacy and writing, these are valuable assets. Being English doesn't mean that my written English is "spot on" at least, I know there's a prospective coach at hand :) Wishing you every success.

Hello, yes, I have a background in content creation that I hope to put to good use by helping people. It can be a daunting task, especially in the beginning.

You don't have to be perfect, but it is important to have content that readers like and to create it consistently. I hope I can help if you need it.

All the best! :-)

Thank you Stella for the follow! I will return a follow. Your profile says you have experience with writing. I was a journalism major in college resulting in lots of freelance writing for newspapers in the past. Just recently completed my first eBook with Kindle Direct Publishing. Lots to learn on this site. Trust 2018 will be a good year for both of us.

I wish you all the best, and I'll see you around! :-)

Hi Stella! Thanks for following me. It looks lie you are among the "experts" here at WA? I will begin reading your posts and learn as much as I can. My wife and I are educators, and this year we are expanding to the Internet in order to reach more students. So much to learn before we can teach!! But, of course, you know that! (Writing is sooo one dimensional. It lacks emotion, but I am smiling!)

Happy and Prosperous 2018!!

Hello William;
Not an expert in most things here at WA, but I do have a strong content background.
However, I have learned a lot since I came on board. (You are in the right place for your undertaking.)
Whenever I see the opportunity to share things that I feel are important, I try to do it. (I'm also working on a couple of training posts about content. Hopefully ready soon.)
Yes, as much as I love writing, it can be frustrating to set the proper tone.
I'm smiling back at you, and wishing you all the best in the new year, too!

Yes, having been a teacher is helpful, as is the writing background. I have had some success, but I'm working on two sites now that are newer.

Good morning to you Stella. My name is Ken and I welcome you to WA and thank you for the follow. I'm following you back. There comes a time when you realize when teaching yourself how to do something isn't working. You conclude that "experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted the first time". This is what was happening to me before I joined WA. Now I know how to write and to make a webpage SEO friendly. I can get on page one of Google, Yahoo, and Bing. This is what the training here at WA teaches you.
I look forward to working with you and wish you much success in your online journey.

Hi! Stella2,

Welcome to networking for pursuing a mutual E-marketing success through the WA unparalleled training of its kind and WA comradeship. So, I would like to congratulate you on making a right decision on joining WA, now, to succeed, it is the time to take right actions for WA training.

To affirm what I affirmed about an E-marketing success, please peruse few of the posts on my WA profile as well as the contents of my new baby – www.ebettercare.com. Of course, your honest critique and input are the keys to mutual support, which I appreciate.

Oh, after reading your profile, I am pleased to know that your passion for English writing and networking will be the irreplaceable resource of mutual support for WA members like me who have English as the third language after Taiwanese and mandarin.

Now comes with my best wish for our success in e-marketing.
