I would choose deeper meanings. I believe that God created us and has a plan and purpose for our lives. I also believe that we can make wrong choices and reject the plan and fail to receive what God intended for us.
About 20 years ago I bought a baseball cap and I had them put "practical existentialist" on the front of it. It was, in my opinion, an oxymoron. Internally contradictory.
See, I pushed the wrong button and posted it before it was practically advantageous.
I have been told that I am a little sarcastic. lol
What is the meaning of life? The broad view is "nothing". The close view, my personal meaning, is to participate in the environment without hurting others and making the society a little better for me having been there. I am 1 of 7.5 Billion people. For example, I heard on the news, NPR, yesterday that 3000 rapes happen in UBER rides last year. What? I am not sure if it was the drivers or paying passengers. Regardless, how would the meaning of life address something like that? Also, 4 people were murdered and 12,000 assaults and battery and more. That feedback loop suggests that I should take a bus. Unforeseen consequences?
At 67, I am looking in the rearview mirror of my life's accomplishments. It is weird to live looking in the rearview mirror. It would seem to be in my best interest to look forward and look out for what I am stepping on.
In Honolulu, there is a park in Waikiki called Kapiolani park. Behind that park is a group of mountains. In the mountains, there is a rainbow almost always. I usually have to park a 1/2 mile or more away. I am attracted to the rainbows, but, people walk their dogs, so I have to look for S... or I will stink at the end of the walk. :)) My point is, we can spend a lot of time contemplating the meaning of life and miss the S... I may step in. I have done that.
I am hesitant to say that WA is the meaning of life for me. It is the best tool for me to move into my retirement to achieve a passive income. That is for sure.
Speaking of 7.5 Billion people, 25% of them are females in the childbirth age group. I understand that many females give birth to 3 or more children. A beautiful thing to think about, but how many people can the Earth sustain? I understand that 9 billion is the limit. We will have to get in touch with our meaning of life when there is not enough food and water for people? The upside for us is the increase in people who need shoes and supplements.
