So today is the deadline for the Super Affiliate Challenge...... and I have Failed!

I have my reasons and excuses but the bottom line is that I just didnt focus and execute.

Thats it!

I let myself get distracted and complicate things when all I really needed to do was write Blogs!

The thing i have learned from this exercise is that:

1. I am a great starter, but a poor finisher! - This pattern has been through out my life and although I am getting better at completing tasks, I still really struggle.

Solution - Recommit to my goals and get a plan and stick to it!

2. Shame is a great motivator! - The sense of shame I feel sharing this doesn't feel good and to move forward I will think of the times when ive succeeded and completed something on time, hit a goal and been focused and hold on to that and also think of how bad i feel now and remember that feeling to spur me on to do better next month

Solution - Recall feelings of shame and recall the feelings of winning to motivate me

3. The goal is to be a better person - I can see now that this challenge is so much more than just writing blog posts, it's about becoming a better person in the process. The discipline, creativity, focus and determination are all valuable character assets that will compound and build my character.

My writing and editing skills will develop, so will my knowledge of my niche, the relationships i inititiate and nuture as i come into contact with more people will deepen, both with people in this community and my fututre customers, my self esteem will increase as i complete more posts and gain more feedback from my customers, not to mention my bank balance swelling to afford me more time to gain more valuable experiences.

My future posts will have more depth and quality of content which means my business and service I can give to others through my experience will grow.

The list of positive benefits I can gain from starting, growing and developing this business also continues to grow and theese are all more valuable to me than just the pursuit of money.

Money is important but its really just a tool to enable me to have greater experiences and provide a sense of wel being and safety, in a world that's constantly changing and evolving, I have to change and evolve to keep up and this model of business really helps me do just that.

All of this isn't new information of course, I have heard it myself many times but something about writing them out and sending them out into the world is like a public decleration of my intention and as someone who feels very vulnerable to the lure of 'easy online' money.

Connecting to the deeper reasons for starting an onoine business with Wealthy Affiliate might just help me say motivated to be able to deliver a 'I've smashed it!' message next month when I can proudly say that I have met the challenge and hit the goal.

Solution - Focus on the holisitic benefits of doing this challenge and how I will grow as a person

Anyone who is thinking of starting building a business with wealthy affiliate, can get so mush more than a new stream of income and for me its through failure that I have found the meaning of success for me!

So even if I have fail to hit the target this month, I know I have learned something valuable which will help me get better results, change my self defeating habits and taste real lasting success that comes from a change of attitude!

Good luck everyone for next month and thank you for your posts and your support, it really keeps me going seeing your successes and failures.

Remember: You're not a Failure if you don't hit your target this month, you're only a failure if you quit!

Grateful to read this post...I am in the same boat. I didn't hit my goal of 20 posts this month. But the quote is so true. We only fail is we quit. So just like you, no quitting allowed! Keep moving forward..Much success to you!

Thanks Tipqmon, for your response. How ever you slice it, just gotta keep going!

You're Welcome! Thats right..so true!

Apparently Thomas Edison failed 10,000 times before perfecting the incandescent electric light bulb!! Keep going, success is in sight

I heard he said he did not fail, rather he succeeded that many times in how NOT to make a light bulb-failure is always depends upon how you look at it!

jeff

Yes Jeff, just a matter of perspective.
Like the the two builders laying bricks on a big site, the one builder is asked what are you doing? to which he replies, 'I am laying bricks' the other is asked the same question, his answer 'I am building a Cathedral!'
So our blogs can be just seen as writing blogs but really each word we write is building our business, our brand and creating internet real estate!

I really like that analogy--I will need to put that in my comment quiver! Again, thanks for the post!

You're welcome Jeffrey. Comment Quiver is a great name for something!
