Affiliate Marketing: i can do that!
I became aware of affiliate marketing about 2 months ago. I was home bored watching YouTube videos. One of the ads before a video was a guy named Vick. He was promoting his online affiliate course. I watched the entire ad ( which i never do ) and continued on to my video. Before i knew it i found myself sitting there zoned out with 1000 ideas of different scenarios how i thought i could make his system work for me.
Reality Check
The next day i was pumped! i mean i was on cloud 9. I found the secret to success. Lucky me i was bored last night watching YouTube videos and god sent that ad to show me how to become an overnight success and tonight is my night.
I mean its pretty basic right? You go online, set up a store, advertise other peoples products, and boom you're rich!
Now mind you. I am horrible with a computer, i have worked physical intense jobs my entire adult life, i am not "Tech" Savey at all, if there has ever been a person that is unqualified to make this work... its me!
So I get home after brainstorming all day about how i am going to attack this affiliate marketing world. I get on my dusty laptop, go to the site Vick informed me about, sign up for his course, and start going through his course!
Within one hour of watching that course. I realized about 95% of what i fantasized about all day, was not even close to reality, and yes you can do this job from home in you're spare time, but affiliate marketing is a job! Especially for a guy like me that is not only learning about affiliate marketing, and all the tools, and skills you need. I am also learning how to use a computer in the process by default.
WA saves the day!
Although i like Vick and i feel he has a good course, and good intentions. I don't feel like his course is a good choice for the average person ( like me ) who is just getting started on a low budget. So i started doing some research on different courses for beginners. After looking through many options i came across Wealthy Affiliate.
I honestly don't think there is a better program out there for new AM's. Everything they teach is built right into the website. Your personal Domain, Email, the tools you need to build you're website, a way to get feedback on you're website, you can ask questions and not just get one response, but several responses. There are just so many cool features that are included in the wealthy affiliate program that you can't find anywhere else.
So after my dose of reality i decided to join WA and let Kyle, and Carson guide me into this crazy world of AM. I'm glad i made that choice!
Then and Now!
Like many others. When i finally realized this wasn't an instant success thing and i didn't unlock the secret to success by watching a YouTube ad. and i realized it does take time, and patience, on top of a lot of what i consider to be hard work. I started noticing fear, and confusion setting in.
I started thinking about what it takes to build a website, what niche to choose, how much does it cost, etc. I was lost and didn't know where to turn, and wouldn't ya know here comes Kyle @ Wealthy Affiliate to save the day.
From day one. I knew i would be able to follow his teaching and learn all the content they share at WA. so i made a goal to complete there first training course.
Well today i completed that training course. I still have some questions on things. I am still confused on a lot of things. But the fears gone, and the fog has lifted. Thanks to Kyle and everyone at WA i know i can do this, and not only do, but with time, education and practice. I can be successful.
By dedicating a few hours a day, and being determined not to give up. I have completed the Online Entrepreneur Certification. I'm here to tell you. If i can do it, so can you!
I have proven to myself, that with a positive mindset, a little determination, and the ability to be coachable. Humans can learn and achieve in abundance. I will continue to practice these new findings. There is a big world out there. I have decided i am going after it. starting with changing my thought pattern.

And for realizing there is no easy way to make money
online - but seriously this is easy but work LOL

Hi Scott,
I believe your story is a great motivation to all of us. I think we are at WA has the sheer advantage that we never build our site alone, so to speak. Given all the tools we can access here but if you try to figure out everything by yourself, it's going to lead to a lot of frustration which most likely force ourselves to quit. With WA, assistance is instant and the more you engage with the community the more you'll learn, the more you'll gain.
