Potential Nest Egg, Or a car?

Hello everyone, this post is more of a public opinion grab.

I am stuck between a rock and a hard place, but maybe y'all lovely people can help me decide what I should do.

Here's my dilemma:

This is my 1990 Corvette. It's a pretty nice car, except it has way too many problems. The major problems are: The heater core needs to be replaced: no heat, and it's going to start snowing very very soon. -_-
The second problem is that my A/C (Auto Climate Control, not Air conditioning, confusing I know) is broken as well, so the car blows a ton of cold air on my face whenever it feels like it, and I don't have the ability to turn it off. Why not remove the fuse? That turns off the primary LCD screen which shows me my gas level, my speedometer, odometer, tripometer, etc..

Here is $3,000....or a down-payment on a "nicer" car.

My question for you is should I spend $1000-$2000 on a P.O.S. car and drive that until it dies, while trying to swallow my pride because it will look terrible but probably run great, and then invest $3000 into my business, OR should I purchase a new car so that I can be assured that with a newer car I won't have to maintain it as much, with a lower risk of it breaking down, in order to get to my day job?

Please let me know!

Hey man what did you end up doing? What are you driving these days?

Hey there! I had the Corvette for about 6 months after I first bought it. I recently traded it for a Mercedes c300 4matic Luxury on December 4th, 2015. :)

The good news is that I'm also making more money to support my expenses and this purchase did not put any hurt or stress on my bank.

Hey man Ben. There done that you name it I have had them Porsche Ferrari Lamborghini Aston etc etc and what do I drive now a 1994 Toyota forunner and we love it and had it eight years because it get from A to B the same as the Ferrari did but guess what I grew up and learned there is more to life that four wheels
Go with the business work at that work at improving your self you are real the car is only an illusion - best regards Paul

This is very true...although I do have a need for "self-worth" and where I live, that is highly dictated by material possessions, and it's nearly impossible to make connections with people, or even talk to them if you aren't "rich".... I fully understand that if I invest in my business now, it will pay off for the rest of my life.

Exactly some times you have to bend a bit to reap the reward

Remember, I've met you already.

This is an absolute no-brainer and you know it!

In fact ...if you are going to throw money into that thing ...which was born the same year I graduated from high school...

I'll ride by on my bike and snag that cash for my business and my next trip lol.

COme On!

I work an hour from my house though, and I need a car. Also, I need a car because my house is somewhat remote, and stores are 20 minutes away by car....well like 10 in the vette ;)

Or, lease a lesser ride until you build up? Yes?

Pffft get the day job, then get a red corvette.:)

I was looking at a 2005 zo6, 6-speed in yellow, but I don't have good enough credit to get financed. I just started building credit. :/

I have the job, but I just need a new car to get there. I also work an hour from my house.

Fix it with the money....:)

Or a pusheeeee, keep you fit and you would look cool on a a cool bike., buses always have there benefits because you can listen to conversations, and find new blogs, more strap lines, its all good...:)

It needs a new transmission (2nd gear synchro is weak) which will cost $2500-$3500 without labor, it needs a new heater core which is $1500 without labor, it needs a new air-conditioning compressor which is $600 without labor, then I need to change all the seals by hand, and the seals are $400. It's just not worth it. :/

Get a bus pass, :)

Get the P.O.S. scallops to it, I like Fyres idea though, that makes sense.:)
