How To Permanently Stop Microsoft Update?

Hello, Wonderful Affiliate Families and Friends,

Hope all of you are doing well.

I was wondering if anyone knows how to stop Microsoft Updates? Every time Microsoft updates my Windows 10 or Microsoft Office, my computer acts weird and slows my computer. The updates always change the screen savers all the time. Then you get a message, "Do you like what you see?"

I have tried using what I found on Google but did not really stop the update at all. In fact, it says there is no guarantee the update will stop. I have been postponing the updates to 15 or 10 days, whatever number of days Microsoft gives as an option to postpone. This week I have been experiencing the slowness of my laptop and also sometimes the clicking on the screen does not work. I suspect because I have postponed the updates 4 times. I do hope someone has a trick to permanently stop Microsoft updates. It could be frustrating sometimes.

Also, lately, I have received one of the "pay it forward" emails but I cannot reply because where you are supposed to click and reply has a message to "Upgrade to Premium Membership in order to comment. Unfortunately, I am not ready to upgrade to higher Premium as my website is not monetizing yet. I am still working on improving it with things I need to add to it and do not need higher experts for what I need to do at present. Can someone suggest what should I do as I like responding to those "Pay It Forwards"

Thank you all so much as always. Take care and be safe all.

Evelyn

Not experiencing all those things, had very limited time using my pc. I work for a living 7 days a week.....2 to 3 hours working on WA. For 2 months nothing done yet...finished training lesson one though...

Sounds like non-stop work. It’s good you are able to put in 2-3 hours for WA and you made progress finishing lesson 1? Maybe you meant Level 1 training? I think there is 10 lessons per level of training. I cannot get on my PC right now. It is acting weird. So I am letting it do its own thing. I hope it will stop whatever it is doing. It is going off and on. . .

Thanks for stopping by.
Cheers.

Yes Evelyn, level one in the training. Could not go on level two...am stuck writing my niche. Make a break and instead interacting here with all of you to ease the tension down.

Oh, really? Well, I guess I just have to let Microsoft do their updates. Now my laptop is stuck at something and I am not able to do anything, I had to call an IT person to fix the problem.

Thank you for interacting with the group chat here. It is always nice to hear members’ comments as it helped me to be a little open minded about Microsoft updating personal computers.
Hope it helped you as well and it was a good break for you. 😊

I don't mind the updates, my computer seems to run better after each one. Jim

Thank you for your input. Jim, and for stopping by. I won’t be on my laptop today so I may let the update happen.
Cheers,
Evelyn

I find the updates a bit of a nuisance too Evelyn but essential to the overall smooth running of my devices.

Rick

Thank you, Rick, for your comment. Not sure what happened to my reply to your comment before, it disappeared! I was saying that sometimes the update is an intrusion to your files. It feels that way sometimes.😆
Cheers,
Evelyn

Yes, it does feel like a minor intrusion and invariably at inconvenient times!

Hi

Settings > Update & Security, then you get some options.

You can pause and then do an undo, and if there's updates you can do them when you are not using device.

However it is imperative to keep your device updated and at all times, to prevent issues.

Thanks very much Abie and for the information. You always are ready with info all the time. Very much appreciated!

Cheers and be safe,
Evelyn

So very welcome.

Kindly let us know how you are getting along.

Thank you, Abie. I have not looked into what you sent. I currently have something urgent that needs to be done and tomorrow, Thursday, I won’t be home. Hoping this weekend, will take care of the issue.
I am very appreciative of the helpful info and again, I thank you so very much!

Cheers,
Evelyn

Personally we would not recommend stopping the Windows updates. A few weeks ago there was a serious update to prevent computer viruses. We get the pictures to, but we feel this is there way of humanizing the technical. After all Windows 10 is a free operating system. Not updating it will inevitably cause some major issues for you especially if you wish to own a long term online business.

Thanks very much for your helpful comments on the Microsoft updates.

I have been getting those “pay it forward” messages and have been giving input but this time I was surprised not to be able to. So i will just ignore it if I get a new one. Thank you for answering this part of my blog. Very much appreciated.

Cheers,

Evelyn

I would keep trying the "pay it forward" messages. It is very possible the one you tried was no longer available to answer. Sometimes that happens. When that happens we just wait for the next "Pay it Forward".

Glad you are involved.

Cheers.
