Do You Use Cloud for storage?

Hello Wealthy Affiliate Friends and Families,

Hope you are all doing well.

Does anyone of you use cloud for storage? Could you share your experience when using cloud for storage. I have been using external storage so I can avoid using the cloud. The external storage are not cheap but I use it to store videos I have created. Not too long ago I encountered a problem with it, my laptop is not able to read the drive.

If you are using external drive and cloud, please share your experience using both. It will help me decide whether to continue using external hard drive or start using cloud.

Thank you in advance for sharing your experience.
Sincerely,

Evelyn

I use drop box which is very good :-)

Thank you Lisa, for your input. Just saw it and I apologize for this delayed response.

My HP laptop that broke had a drop box. Not sure if I have it in the new one. I now have Dell Latitude. So far I love it.

Thank you for your input.

I use external flash drives. I have 6 flash drives, but then my kids boyfriend is a geek, and he put all of my hard drives from failed computers in one desktop computer. These drives had the motherboard go out on one, the processor on another and the other two were from laptops. But it is probably not your flash drive, it is probably your usb port. This has happened to me, then I try the flash drive in another port and it works fine. The geek (he takes that as a compliment, not an insult), said he would look at my ports, clean them up and make sure all the cables were still secure, and if that does not work, I will probably need to replace the ports, which can get expensive.

I don't trust the cloud at all. They are too nosey and will just steal and then sell my data to some one that I don't want getting my information. Especially with the way the current administration is destroying our energy and power grid right now. Wind and Sun will not keep our cities lit and our power on. So there is always that to consider when putting your data in the cloud.

OMHO. There you have it, there it is, and so it goes.

All the best,

I have the same concern as you do, that is why I use external drive. I bought a refurbished Dell Latitude 3 months ago and it started acting weird, I stopped using my seagate external drive as I thought it was messing up my laptop. It was taking forever to boot when turned on and also will not shut down once I get it going. Long story short, I decided not to fool around with the laptop and returned it and demanded a refund. I bought a brand new Dell Inspiron and waiting for it to come. I had also bought a LaCie hard drive but not sure if I should use it with the new laptop.

I hope I get more feedback. Thank you so much for stopping by. Take care.

Evelyn

My husband and I have been using a shared Dropbox account for about 3 years with no problems. It's in the cloud.

Thank you so much for your feedback, Rosana. Very much appreciated!
