No Bungee Jumps, Just Blog Posts: Your Business Bucket List
Forget skydiving—how about finally publishing that lead magnet you keep putting off?
Some people dream of cliff diving in Bali or hiking Kilimanjaro. Me? I dream of fixing my About page and finally automating my welcome email.
If that sounds painfully relatable, you, my friend, might need a business bucket list.
Why Create an Affiliate Bucket List?
Because of traditional to-do lists? They’re bossy.
Bucket lists? They’re bold.
A to-do list whispers “someday” in your ear.
A bucket list shouts, “Why not now?”—preferably while tossing confetti in your face.
There’s a reason bucket lists feel different. They’re driven by desire, not duty. They say: Let’s do something meaningful, fun, and maybe even a little wild before the year runs out.
When you reframe your affiliate goals this way, here’s what happens:
- You focus on what truly matters, not just what’s urgent
- You stop stalling and start taking action, even if it’s messy
- You turn your business into an adventure instead of a chore
- You get to look back at the year with real wins, not just open loops
And the best part? You don’t have to climb a mountain. Just pick your peak and start walking.
Let’s Build Our Bucket Lists Together
You don’t need to plan your whole year. Just pick a handful of goals that get you excited (or mildly terrified—in a good way).
Don’t overthink it. Drop one thing in the comments that you’ve been putting off.
We’ll hold each other to it—and maybe even swap celebration GIFs when we tick them off.
Whether it’s creating your first lead magnet or cleaning up affiliate links from 2019, this is your moment to draw the line in the sand and say: “Yep, this gets done before the ball drops.”
7 Things on My List (And Why They Matter)
1. Hit 100 Blog Posts
I’m currently in the mid-80s zone, which is a weird place. Close to a milestone, but far enough that I can still talk myself out of it. But crossing the 100-post mark isn’t just a numbers game—it’s about commitment. It means I’ve shown up, over and over, even when inspiration was hiding under the couch. It means I’ve built something real.
Obstacle? Over-editing drafts to death.
Mindset shift? Publish first, perfect later. The 100th post is waiting.
2. Publish My First Lead Magnet
This one has lived rent-free in my head for too long. I’ve sketched wireframes, hoarded email ideas, and even downloaded “freebie templates,” but no actual download exists.
Why? Because launching feels scary. Will people even want it? What if it flops?
But honestly? It’s time to get it out there. One imperfect PDF is worth more than ten beautiful ideas hiding in my Google Drive.
3. Try One Video Post
Video is the thing I keep promising to "try next quarter." Guess how many quarters have passed? (Don’t answer that.)
I’ve got the webcam. I’ve got the coffee. What I don’t have is the courage to hit record.
But the truth is, video builds trust faster than text. And if I want to build deeper connections, I need to show up fully—even if my lighting’s a little off.
4. Clean Up Old Affiliate Links
The ghost of outdated links haunts every longtime blogger. Clicking on an old post and seeing “Page Not Found” is the internet equivalent of stepping on a LEGO.
Fixing those links won’t just improve SEO—it’ll restore trust, improve UX, and maybe even boost commissions.
Time to play affiliate archaeologist and dig up the buried treasure.
5. Run a Full Content Audit
I’ve written a lot over the years. Some posts are solid gold, some are… let’s call them “practice.”
This goal is about pruning and polishing. What still serves my audience? What needs an update? What can be combined or retired?
Yes, it’s tedious—but it’s also strategic. It’s how we keep the garden healthy.
6. Update My About Page
Mine still says something vague like “I’m passionate about helping others.” (I know. I know.)
Your About page is prime real estate. It should reflect where you are now, not who you were three years and 47 pivots ago.
This is my chance to refresh it with personality, clarity, and a clear link to my affiliate mission.
7. Schedule 2 Weeks of Evergreen Content
Because burnout is real, and December-me deserves a break.
This goal is about buying freedom in advance. A couple of scheduled blog posts, social blurbs, and email drips = less scrambling, more eggnog.
Plus, evergreen content keeps working while you sleep. That’s the dream, right?
How I’m Tracking Progress (Without Losing My Mind)
Here’s what’s keeping me sane (and semi-organized):
- A simple Trello board with columns: “To Bucket,” “In Progress,” and “Crushed It”
- Weekly check-ins on Sunday night (yes, with tea and lo-fi beats)
- Post-it notes on my wall for visual dopamine
- A reward jar: Every completed item = a treat. Chocolate, YouTube binge, new notebook—you get it
- Public accountability—like this post 👀
Example:
In Trello, I’ve got a card for each goal. Each one has a checklist underneath—so when I finish part of it (like designing the lead magnet), I check it off and drag the card to the “Crushed It” column. That satisfying click-drag-done moment? Pure serotonin.

Sonia, first off, I loved this post and I love your energy. Don't stop! The one thing you said that made me say, I 100% agree with that, was when you said about reframing your affiliate goals,
"You get to look back at the year with real wins, not just open loops."
For me, when I look back and see wins, even if they are not financial, it motivates me. When they are financial wins, then I'm dancing around my home disturbing the neighbors. LOL
Haha, I’m all for neighborhood-disturbing dance breaks—those are absolutely bucket-list worthy!
And yes, that shift from “open loops” to real wins is such a game-changer. Even the non-financial wins (like finally publishing something that’s been sitting in limbo) give you that momentum boost to keep going.
Thanks so much for the kind words—and the reminder that celebrating progress counts. Let’s keep stacking those wins, one loop-closer at a time!

Wow I love this - I love a list but the Bucket List seems to have an 'urgency' to it. I have devised a couple (well more than a couple) of Lead magnets but don't publish them. A video post seems mission impossible.
Produce some material that really help others.
Contacting and getting signed up some affiliate programs.
Really does feel a mountain to climb. But I just need to do it and work through the training and get it done.
Right? A bucket list somehow tricks the brain into feeling excited instead of overwhelmed—at least on a good day!
Sounds like we’ve got some twin goals here. I totally relate to the “drafts galore, zero published” lead magnet saga. And as for video? Same—I've opened my camera app more times than I care to admit, then quietly backed away.
But here’s the thing: You’ve already got clarity on what matters—helping others, building partnerships, and getting your work out there. That’s more than half the battle.
The mountain might look steep, but step-by-step still counts as climbing. Let’s hit one foothold at a time and see what unfolds!

Skydiving or climbing Mount Kilimanjaro are big experiences, but sometimes the smaller accomplishments that make everyday life run more smoothly can be just as satisfying. https://slitheriogame.io
