Solidbase asking for urgent help.
Hello everyone,
I know this topic has been raised and discussed ad infinitum in the past, but now it has caught up with me as well.
WP editor not showing visual !!
In the past I always fixed it (somehow ?) by refreshing the page or installing the latest change/update I had made to a post.
Here's my problem :
1. The editor works fine on my other website, no problem whatsoever.
2. It also worked fine while building my new website, up to a point, when it just quit on me. Here are the symptoms :
a. When I click on "edit" in WP for any post or page, it just comes up a blank page, without the toolbar at the top, and totally unresponsive.
b. However, all the posts and pages display just fine when I visit my new site.
c. If I click on "edit" while viewing a page or post on my new site, it displays the WP editor but as a blank. (As described above)
d. It does however display the "text", but I am too stupid to work with it.
3. I have tried all the recommended remedies that I could find here in previous blogs by other folks, but to no avail.
a. I have checked and unchecked the box in my profile settings
b. I have deactivated all plugins and tested it, but no go. (Re-activated plugins again)
c. I have logged out completely and took a nap, but still no joy when I logged in.
d. Have cleared cash as directed by other members.
e. Tried a different browser, nothing doing.
f. Updated all plugins, but still nothing.
4. I now ask for your help and guidance please ?! I dont think it would serve any purpose to give you the url to my site here, because as I stated, the site shows up fine... It's just the WP editor (for this new site) that is full of shit. (Excuse my french, but that's how I feel)
5. Any help, suggestions and or guidance will be highly appreciated.

Hey Theuns, have you tryed changing the theme to a default like twenty thirteen? Maybe the theme is no longer compatible with the new release of Wp. Hope you can get this resolved. There is nothing more frustrating. That is the only other thing that you haven't mentioned.

You know what ? I have thought about that, but I am hesitant to change the theme because I had to ask someone to help me create a header picture and text for this header, and I did not want to screw it all up by changing themes.
As you say, it seems to be the only thing left to do, but first I think it will be wise to submit a support ticket I think.

You are welcome Theuns. The other thing you could try is to set yourself up a little test site and put the theme on it that you are using to see if you get the same reaction. Then change the theme and test again to see if that is your solution. I had a problem logging into one of my sites not so long ago and support were excellent! Very quick and very helpful. They are there to help.

Hi Theuns it is good to be back. Lets hope the run of bad luck my family has gone through this year is over and we are going to have good health.
Tried a different browser, but did you check to see if the browser you usually use is the latest version? And the "other" browser? Also, is the Wordpress version you are using on the site with the problem that absolute latest version?
Those are the only two things I noticed you did not have on your checklist. If neither of those work, then send in a help/support ticket.

No problem. I had the same thing happen to me about 4 months ago and support was the only ones that was able to get it fixed for me, but your situation may be different.

I had the same problem 5 or 6 weeks ago . . . but cannot remember how it was sorted out :( (I feel rather stupid!)

Yeah, as soon as the problem is fixed, we tend to move on and forget the remedial steps we took to fix it in the first place.
Before this episode I was always able to somehow fix it, but this time it's got me stymied.
I will submit a support ticket I think.

A quick and easy fix which worked for me.
Save your site.
Change your browser. I used Explorer and havn't had a problem since.
