that usually depends on the theme.
Can you tell me the name of the theme you are using?
You are talking about a "recent comments" widget for the sidebar or footer, right?
I just checked and tried myself, and there doesn't seem to be an easy way to do that.
There might be a way, but that would include changing stuff in the code.
I don't really recommend doing this, especially if you don't have experience with it.
Why would you like to remove the names anyways?
As far as I know, every theme includes the names of the comment givers in the recent comments widget.
