Joined AdSense: no big deal, but I still celebrate :)

So I know it's no big deal or feat, but today I managed to have my website approved for AdSense.YAY!!!

Just to put a context into this, my website was created back in March, and I am pretty happy with the content I am creating. I write about handmade soap and natural cosmetics, which became my passion since last September.

I have as main objective to spread the word that we can make really nice cosmetics for ourselves and much, much healthier than the ones we buy in the supermarket or perfume stores.

But I wasn't managing to get traffic or join any sort of affiliate program, even AdSense. I know AdSense is not that great but it was pissing me off a lot that I didn't manage (especially because everyone else seemed to be doing it...).

So... yes I wasn't doing something right, and I needed to learn about it. This is when I've decided to join WA. And so I've been following the training and getting help and support, especially from Nathaniel, thanks a lot! :)

And finally I managed to get approval for AdSense! I was probably very close to it, but I am sure it were the small (and big!) details I've learned here that made the difference.

I've also noticed a small but constant increase in traffic. And yes I know I shouldn't be looking but I was already checking before :D So I am reaching the conclusion that coming here was the best decision I've made! I feel supported, guided and when I apply the things that are taught here... they work!!

So it's not so much for joining AdSense, it's more about the small victories and knowing I am on the right path... and if I go wrong again, I'll have WA community and a lot of good material to teach me to get back on track!!

The next milestone will be to monetize my website. Whenever I earn something, even if a few cents, I'll throw a party!! :D

Still I will keep as goals what I've learned here: continue to write content, learn more about soap making (love to try new recipes) and natural cosmetics (they actually have a lot in common with soaps) to become an expert, and check what sort of posts work better for traffic.

I am already using affiliate programs and ads, but I'll probably won't focus too much by now in them.
