According to HealthGuidance and Healingwell More than 100 million people are suffering from problems in the healthy gut niche.

And needless to say, they are actively looking for solutions ...

Once again, the numbers are speaking for themsleves:

  • digestive health is a $12 billion niche in the US only
  • only digestive enzyme supplements market is expected to reach $1.6 billion by 2025
  • the global digestive health food and drinks market will grow steadily at a CAGR of around 8% between 2018 and 2020.
  • 100 million people in the US suffer from digestive problems

Google Trends gave me a steady demand for the past 12 months ...

... and a very clear regional pattern:

Mr. Jaaxy gave me 8,923 AVG monthly searches for "digestive health" ...

... and there are many great narrowing opportunities: gut flora, probiotics, leaky gut, stomach bacteria, healthy gut diets, healthy gut supplements, healthy gut recipes, probiotic food, gut cleansing programs, microbiome health, etc.

And of course, a truckload of affiliate products. I found 4K items only on Amazon. And most of them are quite expensive! Check this out:

That price is literally hair-raising ... and gut irritating ...

My conclusion

It's an evergreen niche with an incredible potential.

First of all, everybody is affected regardless of age. There are intestinal infections such as gastroenteritis and appendicitis, which peak among infants and children. There is a chronic liver disease and inflammatory bowel disease, which occur more commonly among young and middle-aged adults. And of course, the incidence and prevalence of most digestive diseases increase with age ...

Second: the modern age comes with an endless array of causing factors. Stressors of all kinds are primary causes of poor digestion. Antibiotics kill a high percentage of naturally occurring beneficial bacteria that we need for digestion. Poor diet consisting of starchy foods, read meat, fats, sugars. Drugs, alcohol and smoking. Eating too fast, not chewing our foods, eating under stress, poor food combining. Side effect of many commonly used prescription drugs. And so on ...

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year Sherman!

You Bet

Wow! Our human race needs to wake up eh? Personally, I find all the supplements and pill popping suggests we, as a race, are not travelling so well. Having said that, good niche, bookmarked!
Cheers AJ

Once again, thanks for the time Jill!

This is once again highly useful hard data and looks like a potential ancillary niche. Thank you! Marc

Once again, thanks for being my loyal reader Marc!

That's why nutrition is the new medicine eat in the right way and many problems don't come your way.
Anyhow, I mostly recommended the following supplementation to my clients. Vitamin C, Vitamin D plus Omega 3 and Probiotics on a daily basis. Vitamin C even 1000 mg per day have it in 2 serving of 500mg.

Have a great day
Tommy

Thanks for the pro input Tommy!

And if I still have a pro on the line ... I'm serving Vitamin C 1000 mg per day in one bite ... Having it in 2 x 500mg would be better? What's the difference? Better absorption?

yes taking it in 2 intakes is a better option. Better absorption as the body can only digest so much in a number of hours. So my advice is 500 mg in the morning and 500 mg with your dinner. Don't forget it's a supplement your body also still get natural vitamin C also to digest.

Cool!

Thanks doc!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year my friend!

... beautiful blessings for fabulous festive holiday! ... ⭐️

The gut starts by the mouths and ends well you know where and the bacteria in the whole system need to be in balance.
In order for us to enjoy optimal levels of health and fitness, we need to ensure that we lead a healthy and active lifestyle on a regular basis, complete with plenty of physical exercise and plenty of healthy and nutritious foods. Once you’ve cleaned your diet up and are getting more exercise, the next step you can take to really make yourself that little bit fitter, healthier, and happier, is to incorporate health supplements into your daily diet.

yes, absolutely! ... all in balance & moderation ... 😊

Interesting niche, informative and insightful post!

Thank you Cathy!

Leaky gut research is big business, Zed.

Putting material together for an article.

Alot of foods are damaging the gut beyond repair.

Nobodty wants to hear this especially during the season.

I will wait for the New Year.

All the best
Maxine
