Daily Facts - Day #41: Billion dollar niches - Healthy cooking
Believe it or not, is one of the largest industries that you can get into ..
Nearly every human being wants to eat healthy, but believe that it is too hard to do, takes too long to prepare healthy meals, are too busy to actually do it, or think that healthy food is more expensive than processed junk that they tend to eat on a regular basis.
Each year, the healthy eating niche generates more than $143 billion, making it absolutely massive and providing thousands of different opportunities to make money and claim your piece of the pie.
As time goes on, more people are realizing the benefits of eating healthy, both for their mood and mindset, as well as the health aspect and providing themselves a longer, happier life.
To jump into the healthy eating industry, you don’t just have to promote food.
There are countless different ways you can make money, from selling recipes and cookbooks, to helping people find the gadgets and gear that can help save them time in the kitchen, while also allowing them to take control of their diet.
Helping them overcome problems that they’ve developed from a young age also opens the door to coaching and subscription services that may not necessarily be available in other industries. Your choice of business model is ultimately determined by the niche that you choose inside of the healthy eating industry itself.
According to BrandBuilders ...
- More than 90% of Americans are aware of their diet and want to eat better
- Parents make up the majority of this market, representing 70% of the people that want to improve their lives, or the lives of their children
- Healthy cooking is not a one-time purchase, with people spending hundreds of dollars on it every single month
- People love buying new ‘toys’ and technology that allows them to save time when they’re preparing healthy meals for themselves or their family
- A large number of people in the market have admitted to spending hundreds of dollars on cookbooks and recipe guides that help keep them from thinking about how to prepare the meals, and show them exactly what to do instead
In my opinion this is another very precious gem.
There is only one secret here ... The industry is huge and very broad, so you'll have to focus on a smaller subset, identifying a specific problem that people are having and build your website around it.
This way you’ll have a much easier time gaining traction than if you try to spread yourself too thin and don’t have specific goals you can work towards.
Your thoughts?

... being a gourmet foodie -- love this ! ... and hey, every living being needs nourishment -- even Venus Flytraps! ... lol ...
... food, food, more food, fast food, tasty food, good food ... it'll never end ... and on it goes .... 🍰
This is interesting! This would be right up my alley...on most days! Thanks for the idea, Zed:)
I like this one. It's an interest of mine but you are right...the challenge is how to stand out from the crowd. Perhaps focusing on a certain style of cooking...example...healthy crock pot recipes. Hmmm.

Hi Thanks for your thoughts on this, its refreshing not to have the vegetarian and vegan seen as the only way to healthy eating. I think this may be just the right advice. Anyone looking for niche, with an interest in cooking, it might just be here.
We agree! Something we may do as a future website. Philip is a great cook.
Thanks for the yummy statistics!
