Web analytics - doable as a sole proprietor?

Web Analytics? Isnt that what Google Analytics is offering - for free?! Maybe I dont get what you mean, but that could be a hard way to compete with Google ;o)
Cheers,
Kay
I was sort of under the impression that Google offers a program that performs web analytics but it was something that you had to operate yourself and sort of know what you're doing. Is it a more self-operating system that just shows you what's going on?? I mean, a lot of companies hire web analysts and I don't know why they would do that if google offers a free analytics program that runs itself... but I don't really know how it works! :)
Thats where I dont know any further. I dont know what webanalysts do all day, so I dont know any answer for you... You will find your answers I guess ;o)

Hello, I have a question about affiliate marketing from a website. I would like to be a part of an affiliate marketing program and I already have one picked out, but of course,
Having an established site is a must. Most affiliate programs will turn you down if they don't see content on a site.
You should have some content on the site and start to get traffic to the site. The affiliate programs want to see that you have a web presence before they will approve you as an affiliate.
Affiliate marketing: website setup or get affiliated first?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could explain to me the differences between affiliate marketing and drop shipping. How different are they? How do they stack up with each other
Affiliate marketing I'm sure you know how that works now..
With dropshipping (which was where I started) It's purely physical products and the way it works is.
You have a supplier and promote their products on your site, The customer pays you, then the payment would prompt you to generate order which goes off to the supplier who ships directly to the buyer.
You pay the shipper and keep the cost of the product wholesale and also shipping fee's usually.
Can be a stable business model, IF you get your shipping costs and everything worked out so you offer a price on your website that gives you a decent ROI.
It's not that hard to get into ..
Great! So which do you think you would recommend between the two if I were running a business from a website?
They both are good working business models.
Affiliate marketing is a lot quicker to start as you can get a link in the next 10 mins to almost any product. But margins are fixed.
With Drop-shipping you have to first find a "good" supplier for your products and that may take a little research and time. Setting up accounts with suppliers I found to be a relatively easy process.
BIG difference is with drop shipping you set the sale price so margins can be considerably bigger. Especially when shipping internationally like I was ;)
For starters I'd go with affiliate marketing - Once you get in ya groove try a lil drop shipping in the mix.
Hopefully Helpful
Very helpful! That really cleared it up for me, thank you. I was leaning toward affiliate marketing to start as well. I've already got an affiliate program picked out so here we go! Thanks!
No worries - holla at me if you need a second opinion, a pair of eyes, ears or anything else :o)
I guess they are quite similar in the fact that you are selling someone elses products.
Companies are always looking for affiliate marketers but not so much for drop shippers.
Drop shipping requires a relationship to be built with a company / manufacturer. It is with this relationship that you are able to discuss the terms including payment.
With affiliate marketing there is a set commission level and thats it.
I think potentially you could make more with drop shipping due to the fact of being able to discuss the payment structure.
