Day 6 of 30: Google Hates Turtles
Nothing Against Turtles, But...
When your site is as slow as one, that's not a good thing!
Today I checked on the 1st site of this challenge only to find that it is craaaaawling with regards to its load time.
I can only believe it's the host (GoDaddy) that is at fault. Now, to be fair I usually NEVER host with GoDaddy but I had an extra hosting account that wasn't being used, so hey, why not right?
Well, for a site that only has a few pages and a small number of plugins, it's a bit frustrating at the load time.
Google Loves Fast Sites... And Hates Turtles
Now I have to figure this thing out because my site's rankings can be negatively impacted if it is slow.
This is a fantastic plugin for those of you who want to diagnose your site:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/p3-profiler/
It will generate a report and show you what is slowing you down.
My biggest culprit is the Thrive Themes plugin I am using, but it's not even that bad.
So today I'll be chatting with the GoDaddy tech folk.
Ugh.
Once things are chugging along again I'll get back into getting this site further along, specifically with a marketing push.

So many technicalities involve in getting a website healthy - Someone should be thinking about developing a diagnosis system to help us non techies.
Onwards and upwards Skyler.

does that mean you should go premium on here - even for a month -add it to the expenses. maybe siterubix would be faster?
do you not use the website loading checkers external to the site?
sounds like you rate the support on godaddy!! on here they are very quick to sort problems and respond!!
good luck with getting it sorted

Hi Phil-
Not sure really. I prefer self-hosted WP sites as I have more freedom over the cpanel and all that (nothing against SiteRubix, just preference). All my other self-hosted sites are quite snappy.
