Day 5 of 30: How I Got My Site Ranked So Quickly
After Only 5 Days I'm Listed and Ranking in Google...
Actually, to be more accurate it happened on the fourth day prior to this post.
In any event, I'm happy about it because now I can start my marketing push.
Others may disagree with me but getting your site listed in Google and ranking for some terms is the #1 most important part of any site.
I'm now able to begin my marketing push.
So, Skyler... How did You Get Ranked So Quickly?
The short answer is that I did everything "by the book".
But in truth this is a formula I've used in the past to get everything listed quickly and it just never seems to fail.
Step 1: Turn OFF Indexing
In WordPress you have the option under the SETTINGS to prevent search engines from crawling your site. TURN THIS ON! Wait until you're further along.
Step 2: Install an XML Sitemap plugin
Whatever one fits your fancy. But DON'T generate the sitemap yet.
Step 3: Create "Google Critical" Pages
You need the following to make Google happy by creating these pages and adding a little content:
- Homepage
- Contact Page
- About Page
- Privacy Policy
- Earnings Disclaimer (if applicable)
- Sitemap
Step 4: Create 3 Additional Pages
Add three more pages/articles with MINIMUM 500 words each.
Step 5: Link All Pages Together
Use a standard menu to link the main pages. You can also link to your Privacy Policy and other pages in the footer.
Step 6: Turn ON Indexing and Generate Sitemap
Reverse of Step #1, then generate your sitemap from the XML sitemap plugin.
Step 7: Submit to Google
From Google Webmaster Tools you can submit a URL
Step 8: Use Pingoat.net
I've been using Pingoat for years. Once you get your site submitted to "the Googs", use pingoat.net to make it known your site is ready. Speeds everything up.
What's Happening Next?
Site is now up and it is actually ranking for my primary keyword.
I'm trying to decide if I need to "solidify" my ranking with a mini-marketing push. It might not be needed... I'm not entirely sure.
What I do know is that I will be doing my market research.
Which reminds me, I have a new expense of $67 on market research software. That brings the expense total to $100.37.
More on that later software later. But just to clarify, I actually used to own this in the past but I got a new computer so I had to purchase again. Oh well, that's life.
Can't wait to give you the next update!

Goodness me, you are doing all of this on the free platform without going through any training - you must be a very experienced web designer.
Nevertheless, very impressive.
Keith
Thanks Keith... I know my way around hosting, WordPress, and the like so I suppose that helps with the learning curve a tad. That said, I've never tried to build a site solely for affiliate marketing. We'll see how it goes!

I've already been ranking and submitted a sitemap, so should I do this method?
