Now, I am a very loving person and share emotion easily. So don't take this the wrong way when I say that in success and horse training there is no room for emotions.

The people who can control their emotions are the ones who succeed more times then not. Horse training for me is very rewarding and therapeutic. On the other side however it can be one of the most frustrating things in the world, and you are going up against an animal that will win every single time if it gets to bad.

However in horse training it is black and white. This is acceptable, this is not. Some of the things they do to you are just because they are treating you like a horse, but those things can very well injure you fatally. So you can not let them happen under any circumstances at all.

Frustration begins where knowledge ends. If you work with horses and it isn't starting to go the way you want it to, and frustration is coming up. That is signaling you that you are running out of knowledge. (In life even this is true)

Same thing with Internet Marketing. When you are trying to solve a problem, and have run out all the ways you know how, and it still isn't working. You have run out of knowledge. Though you need to control yourself and go learn. I'm not saying that a break isn't in order, but just go learn what you need to learn and get back at it.

In horse training, it is I am number 1, you are number 2. (Otherwise they will be number 1, yeah, that's bad)

It isn't that you don't love the horse, but you just need them to move when you say move. Just like the website, you want it to do what you want, when you click that button.

You also need to know when to go forward, and when to step back. When is your best time to work, and when isn't. In horse world it is commonly referred to as "soaking." You work on something, then let the horse just be and stand, let them soak on what just happened. Because if you keep pushing them then they will start to unwind and get worse and worse.

Same thing with everyone here. What is your best time to work on IM? How long can you go and still be productive? I know that if I really focus and get down and work, I can really only get about 5-6 hours of work that is really focused and good.

There are people here that work for 14 hours on this a day and still do good. I am not one of those people and that is ok. If I am just messing around, I could end up all day on here and really only probably get 3 hours worth of focused work done, and again, that is ok because I knew I was just going to really mess around that day.

You need to know yourself and when your optimum time is and you can really be the most productive to get the most out of it. But once you run out of steam, just like a horse, it's time to put the saddle up and go play in the pasture. (Or yard) I know when I get frazzled the more I push the less I get done. I need to go recharge then come back fresh at it.

And that changes too. Sometimes I can go longer, sometimes shorter. But I know myself and when I can go longer, and when I need to "soak." Or even when I need to just change what I am doing and come back later.

So do you know yourself? What is your optimum time to get the most done? Did this blog help you with anything? A concept, a different perspective?

Another great post! Keep them coming -

Thank you. Some.lined up for everyone already!

Very true, good post
Hudson.

Thanks!

I compare this to working with my dog - her attention span is only so long. Nothing I do after I lose her attention, is retained by her. I cannot change that (except with time). I work on my website or other useful things like content or articles, until I am uncomfortable mentally or physically. Time permitting, of course. After a rest, I go back and get to it again.

OOOO dog training, love that as well. I study Cesar Milan all the time. Yep, great that you know that about yourself!

Yes doggie attention spans are short. You get much further with their training when you give them multiple short training sessions over the course of a day.

@skyhorse: Cesar doesn't tell you everything and his training method is seriously flawed. Sorry, that's my opinion and many other dog trainers agree. He is a great marketer though.

great post. I find early in the morning is my best time. Once I start to get interuptions I may as well just be surfing. Plus my internet is more reliable then Ihave wireless on our property and it can be totally frustrating sometimes.

Thank you! See and that is the thing. Some people can really bounce with it and get interrupted a lot and that's great. But then others need to focus. You get more done whoever you are if you focus more.

That's great you know that about yourself and can work accordingly.

That is a great analogy. I think that just about sums up this past week = ) It's definitely time for a recharge!

Recharge away!!!

I really like the way you bring your experience with horses into nearly every post. It gives a very unusual personal touch to your writing. Its a spark of interest. I am not really interested in horses but your obvious passion is rubbing off on me and if you can make me interested then there will be others. Do you write much about horses on your website ?

When I first started here I though to go into horses, (because I have actually written a few e-books on the subject and have pictures and everything.) or talk about a financial education and teaching people about money. Not to be confused with WA however, I don't just promote WA, I talk about different kinds of money like my SA Spending money will make you rich.

So I started on that, but then I kept reading books (like I always do) and was really wanting to share my knowledge about money as well. So I started on that and just have really focused on that for about the last month. So a long answer short, is no. I keep it just about money on my site now because I don't want to have people think, "oh, this horse person doesn't know about money."

I'm glad to know though its rubbing off lol. There are so many things you can learn from the horse that are real life lessons. And the thing is that to really be successful you have to do those things with the horse, where in life you do not.

"There are so many things you can learn from the horse that are real life lessons."
That's an instant favourite of mine right there. I really meant writing as you did in this post about money and success like "All I know about money/success/etc I learned from horses." That kind of thing. It's a bit catchy.

Well thank you very much.
