It's been a long time...
I feel like I know failure on a first name basis. We've become allies over the years and as a result I've learned to welcome the setbacks.
For those of you just getting started online I truly want to encourage you to be graceful with yourself and recognize that this is a process. Frustration and adversity are bound to knock on your door from time to time. When your life seems to be going every way but RIGHT, remember to embrace your greatness and trust that you have everything you need to overcome the obstacles in your way.

Once I decided to become a student of marketing and committed myself to doing the work necessary to grow as a online entrepreneur everything changed. Think about it this way.
Say someone decides they want to become a doctor. They are essentially preparing themselves to endure 8 - 12 long years of schooling, hopefully to earn the respect and crediatinials necessary to excel at their craft and pay off their loans! What we do here online is no different. Although at times it may seem like brain surgery when your trying to figure out the html code to change something on your website:)
Keep this in mind. If you treat your home business like a hobby that's what it will be. However if you come into this community with the mentally of a student (remember the doctor example), put your head down, study, and show up everyday regardless of how you feel. Eventually you will look up and recognize how far you have come in spite the setbacks you might have faced along the way.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel and it's bright. This community continues to produce successful online entrepreneurs who have paved the way for each of us to be reminded daily that this is not a pipe dream.
So if you haven't recognized this already let me be the first one to tell you. The internet is here to stay! 1000's of people just like you and I, are making an honest living and a bunch of money, because they decided to master the skills and tools, we have access to in this community.

Excellent post and admonitions. I especially like the comparison of a HBB to the medical student. Too many people don't treat their HBB as a real job, career pursuit.or business. Glad to have you here in the WA community!
