How to land a paying SEO client

Hey guys, as already announced I will launch officially my company called beSIRIOus on the first of January and I actually already have an SEO client.

I just wanted to share shortly how I landed the client and what other ways I am planning to put into practice at the beginning of next year.

Let the people know

Let the people around you know that you are offering this service and ask them if they might know someone that would need this type of service. In my case, I was very lucky because a work friend of mine has a lot of contacts and he basically got me in touch with someone.

Now, this was possible because I try to be a trustworthy person and people know that if I do something I do it with my heart and that I truly want to help people! So actually, there are more contacts waiting for me.

Selling process

The selling process for SEO that I use is one used by many: do a free analysis of a website! This way you can also understand if you will actually be able to help the customer and you can already give great value for free and it is work of maybe 1-2 hours. For selling that is very little effort.

That's what I did: I analyzed the website and created a presentation with all the things that the client could start fixing themselves and I pointed out the potential that is there and explained how I could help.

Choose the right target group

Now for SEO, not everybody needs it. But let's say you are a Hotel or a Lawyer or Dentist. Just do your keyword research and see how many people are actually searching for those services in the customers' area... sales pitch: now imagine you have monthly X visitors more and let's assume 10% actually become a customer, what the heck, even if it is one more customer a month: how much is that worth to you?

And booom!

Now, of course, I make it sound simpler than it is and there will be clients that say no, but those are not clients I want to work with. I was very lucky with my first customer, and I see the relationship more as partners than customers: you can help each other.

Ever heard of Affiliate Marketing? :P

You can use the same concept with selling services: if one of your current customers recommends you, you give them a discount on the next bill ;) INCENTIVES!!!

I am planning of course also to have my own online sales funnel with webinars etc. but it will take some time to set up.
