Hi Guys, Even though the training with Wealthy Affiliate is really good I still have an issue in using Wordpress.
I hope I am not the only one trying to navigate around the program.
The biggest fear I find is messing up!
After putting in weeks of effort in creating my Website, updates on my pages, I got to the stage of wanting to make the Website look really professional.
Wordpress I can see is really good with loads of features but I really don't want to start messing with it just in case I change something on my Website and get stuck in rectifying it.
Please don't tell me I am the only one, I would really like to see what the features do so that I get a good understanding of what it all does, 'Knowledge is Power' but really don't want to do it on my Website which I hope will eventually produce an income for me.
I would like your comments and thoughts on using Wordpress, such as an idiots guide on all the features or perhaps being able to create a dummy Website to practice on.
You hear loads of good reviews about the program but find it overwhelming with all the terminology and features.
I am at the stage where I want to swap things about, place different images in certain places, adding widgets etc.
I have viewed a lot of peoples Websites on Wealthy Affiliate and have thought, "Mine looks Pants!" compared to theirs.
Would love your comments to see if its worth paying for someone to help create the Website, if you have paid for one and whether it was cost effective doing it.

Now the thing is that the WA platform and training is focusing on "how to transform your passion into a business" ... Obviously is a complex, multi-step process with a TON of technicalities involved ... And obviously, for certain steps and topics you'll have to self-educate yourself using other available channels too ... One of these topics is ... Wordpress ...
Is definitely not a rocket science and all you need is some time to crack the "how to Wordpress" question ... You just need to learn how to use it ...
But don't forget that (for some reasons) WA isn't focusing on the "how to Wordpress" question, because they are offering their own Site Content platform ...

I think there are many of us who share your frustration. But it does get easier over time. Even still, it poses its challenges. You may know this already but there is a plugin called "Updraftplus". It backs up your site, reducing the fear. I was making changes one day and my home page was completely destroyed. I used updraftplus and it restored everything perfectly. Just a thought...
No I didnt but will do it now, that will take away the fear of messing up and getting to know wordpress better. Thanks very much
No problem. I am no expert at all. But I do know it worked for me when I needed it. Take care!
A good way to start adding whatever is to do it in "Customize" that way you can see your alterations and if you don't like it just click the cross at the top instead of publish and your site is back to how it was originally
