Started and Waiting

So I have done a few more pages to my website and have tried to find other websites to "get myself out there". Still have to do some reviews, but taking a little time. I have 2 courses ending for school by next week and then I start another 2. Sometimes it really just feels overwhelming. I'm not expecting a red carpet rolling out cash, but I do hope to make some better progress after my 2 courses finish. School, motherhood, and work: now that's busy. Boredom is a luxury. So, what have I learned within my first week:

  • About social marketing
  • Opening up to people
  • How to make a website using WordPress
  • Targeting an audience

I hope to have better knowledge about everything at some point. Truthfully, I'm going to give this 2 months minimum to see any progress (Yes, I intend to put the work into it). If I put the work and it doesn't seem to work, then it will be pointless for me. At some point, I will make a niche site as well as buy my own. Can't say I tried if I don't do it, right? I'm not calling it quits: I'm saying that I've only just begun.

It's interesting that I come across a statement like "I going to give it two months", or, "I've been at it for two months and nothing." I'm not directed specifically to you motherood... but I repeatedly see these kinds of statements while glancing through the posts...

What profession, skill exists that even begins to me mastered in two months? Or three, or four etc.? Unless a rare, and I mean 'very rare', 'very, very, rare, lucky, unintentional, total blind luck occurrence happened to someone, I've NEVER seen ANYONE, make money in two months started out as a total beginner.... It doesn't happen.

This business has a huge learning curve.... throwing up a quick website is the least and easiest part.... the fun begins with months and months and months of traffic generation. Months and months of adding good, helpful, useful, QUALITY content. SEO attempts and adjustments. Relationship building. On and on and on.

NONE of these can be accomplished by ANYONE within 2 or 3 months... If you don't give yourself 6 months to year as a start you're just wasting time and money..... but here's the catch........

If you quit, that year will pass just like every other year... and quickly too. You WILL be kicking yourself in the backside when after the year to think to yourself.... "damm, if I only stuck it out, how much could I have learned by now?" Now you've REALLY tossed some real money out the window...

take you time.... patience IS a virtue... and tenacity WILL pay off.

Best

Cliff

I see it this way. You just opened a store Signs are up and inventory is ready, now you are waiting for the customers. I think it will takes some time for everyone to learn you are there. It will happen ; O)

Haha, that is a GREAT way of seeing it. When my father had started his business, it was a two car garage with the smallest office/waiting area ever. Now, he owns a 5 car garage with 2 offices and a huge waiting area. Did that happen in a week? No. Years. Thank you, I should just be humble like my father. -Your words helped me a lot, thank you.-

I know these words because I tell them to myself daily....I will probably need to hear them again, when that time comes can you please read them back to me ; O)

We are in this together.

You are certainly on the right path. Make sure you follow the Level 1 Certification Training and maybe even the Boot Camp...cuz you're not busy enough :) I've been here almost 7 months and am seeing some success. WA gives you a good plan and you need to patiently follow it. All the best to you, you're in the right place.

Rick,

Thank you for the confidence. Sometimes I just feel so tuckered out that it's nice to get a little nudge to say, "Don't worry, keep going." Luckily, I know I'm in the right place if I want to do anything online. It's been a fun experience and I know with my first website that it's given me experience on more-or-less where I want to go. It kind of helps to re-evaluate your process and decide what changes you want to do. It's nice to know that you always have more than one option when it comes to WA.
