My Progress Thus Far

Time certainly flies when I'm having fun!!

It's been over 7 months since I first joined on September 5th 2013. Part of me feels that I've not accomplished much at all. Yet, if I think about it honestly, I am happy with what I've achieved. Especially as I'd been thinking about it for at least 14 years prior to starting!!

My First Dilemma had me going around in circles for a month and, because of the focus on niches and money making, I ended up creating 5 blogs - each focusing on a different aspect of my life. Consequently, I didn't complete Course 1 until October 25.

After realising that I couldn't keep 5 blogs going, I deleted four and just kept writing in Finding Slim Sib which was the epic tale of my life long weight-loss-gain-loss-gain. This site also provided me with my first affiliate sale of $41 in early March 2014. Suddenly, it occurred to me how real this truly was and I was super-inspired!

On the same day I blogged about Being $41 Richer, I also had a light-bulb moment which I blogged about here. It then took me some time to set up Sib's Adventures and transfer what I wanted over from Finding Slim Sib.

Within a week, all I wanted to do was write!!

In the past month I've seen my rankings go from 577 to 245 and I find myself loving Wealthy Affiliate more and more each day.

It's taking me a lot longer than I thought it would to create the content for Sib's Adventures and I'm OK with that. I'm still in the process of scanning photos from albums and that's quite a time consuming exercise. Then, because I'm such a perfectionist in my own crazy way, it takes me what seems like forever to write each post. Yet I'm OK with that too.

Although it seems to be taking me forever to get through the WA training (have not yet finished Course 2), I'm learning lots from the wonderful folks here at WA. I've never been involved in such a helpful community.

I've still not found the perfect theme, nor have I figured out a whole lotta things I see on other sites. I'm not sure if it's because our themes are different or if it's simply because I'm not as technically minded. In any case, I know this particular adventure is going to take time and I need to be patient.

By my 52nd Birthday, in just over 3 months, I'd like to have found my perfect theme and be settled into a groove of regular writing. By Christmas I hope to have plenty of content written and a regular flow of income, no matter how small. Of course, as time goes by, I'd love for that income to grow.

Ultimately, this blog is for the benefit of my children and grandchildren. Yet I am thoroughly enjoying my visits down memory lane as I write. A healthy income stream would truly be the sprinkles on the icing on the cake!
