Done & Dusted
The Squirrels, and I have been running almost non-stop in some ways, since the end of March. As I dust off from the ‘upheaval’ of April, I’m ready to rejoin ‘society’ again.
While still working on Content for SAC site, I have been unusually quiet otherwise… see, Mule had the Turbo Charger Regulator installation, Tax Season, and SAC.
The Turbo Charger took me away from my computer for about 4 days in total, add to that 6 days for income taxes, now we’re at 10 days ‘away’ from WA. Then… sigh… I had a few days where even looking at my computer was paramount to Road Rage. (NEVER let Rabid Squirrel drive)!
Non-Political Rantings
I had to break out ‘Accounting Squirrel’, as I’m sure many of us did… ahhh, Tax Season! Where we have to justify keeping as much of our hard earned money as possible!!
See, in doing the Income Tax, Mule has a Disability Income, that’s NOT an Income… this leads to confusion in finding where to put Medical Deductions. Since he has ‘no income’, he then has no deductions… this leads to an Accounting Nightmare of a Freddy Kruger like scenario. (Every night, the hand of the CRA, would reached through my wall to grab me… the Lambs kept screaming).
Short Version:
There are SO MANY things I’m not telling you here… trust me, it was a Murder Scene of paper! I won’t go into details, as it is offensive content, and the language warning would be classified as beyond violent. (This is a Crime Scene Photo of the Victim. Victim's Name: Checkbook. Age: Unknown.)
Days, and days of researching, and VIOLA! I found the forms needed, and Income Tax became Done & Dusted!! Signed, Sealed, and DELIVERED!!! (Until next year)…
After this Funtastic Foray of research, and crunching of numbers, I couldn’t look at my computer the same way. I had lost respect for the poor thing. The bloodshed of numbers was horrifying, and I had to take a couple of days to find forgiveness of the atrocious acts it had to commit on my behalf…I finally have moved passed the trauma, and realised my poor computer was a victim of circumstance.
I have managed to keep up with SAC Content on MMO Site, but that’s about it. I will take that as a WIN!
Have an AWESOME DAY!!

Yup ... taxes are done... and things were a bit of a nightmare on my end too! Never thought of requesting accounting squirrel’s help! LOL
Thank goodness it’s BEHIND us for another year!
Glad you survived and were able to keep up with SAC.
I do hate tax time.
Glad to hear you are keeping up with your SAC content. That's a win for sure.
Mickey,
Yep, no matter where you are, tax time is when you have to justify keeping as much of your money as you can... I find it odd. LOL
Glad to hear you made it through the maze Shaunna, I could say "I knew you could" simply because you have that special ability to find a way to success. Keep up the good work and maybe you shouldn't feed those squirrels too much coffee.
Ray
Ray,
Coffee is Brain food! LOL (The first 3 cups. After that, the Squirrels become a bit manic).
That does not sound good at all. I give ours to the accounting firm for over 8 years. We know what to give him, done and dusted as you say in 20 min.
I had a separate guy file my Schedule K for several businesses I close in 2018. It took me more time to get my things together then my wife's. But knowing my appointment time I was ready.
I did my own for years with Turbo software, and even though I have done government and local accounting, too many changes each year made it easier to pay someone I trust.
Glad you are done and hopefully are back at it here at WA.
Take care,
Bill
Bill,
I love Turbo Tax!! That's what I use ;). As for using an Accountant, that may be a rant for another day LOL!

I understand we had a few we did not like and did Turbo, but with changes each year U felt I was leaving money on the table, so we went on a referral of someone who does accounting and 2nd generation family. He keeps up on these changes, and with turbo back in the 90's it caused me to have an audit, so decided with as many investments and side businesses it was better to seek a professional. Perhaps it better for you now than back then.
At least it's done now.
Take care,
Bill
Ah, yes, tax time! All my figures go to a tax person. Since I started my business in 1984 the same company has done my taxes. I think this is the last year I'll have to file.

So is it correct to assume that the CRA is the same as the IRS ? and over here we have HM Revenue & Customs.....and all of them seem to have autonomous powers consisting of fines, seizure and arrest ? Yet it seems to be a tradition for the majority of us to leave the 'books' to the last minute....Interesting.
Yes... CRA= IRS... or HM Revenue & Customs.
As for leaving it for the last minute... how dare you call me a procrastinator!
I am efficient in the adjournment of delay! Thus making me an Active Staller! (I have a Ph.D. in this).
LOL
Then forgive my hubris and let me welcome your distinguished 'bad' self into the 'Fellowship'...
🤣
