No More "Fetch As Google"
As of 28th March, the Fetch As Google tool will be gone. The new tool Search Console refers you to doesn't seem to have any fetch capabilities or index requesting.

Yes it does still have fetch - I did a quick post about where to find it - Here's Where Fetch Is In The New Google Console
You know Google is changing so much it seem to me they should leave things alone. Like the old saying goes if it isn't broke don't fix it.

In GSC, you select URL inspection and enter the URL.
If Google doesn't find it, you are invited to submit it for indexing.
You are then informed that it's been added to a priority queue.
It doesn't do that when I submit a URL. It just says it can't find it and to try again later.
That's strange. I use it all the time. As soon as I write a post, I submit it for indexing to both Google and Bing. I did one this morning and it was on page 1 position 3 of Bing within a couple of hours. Still no appearance on Google though.
I'll see if I can dummy one up and send you a screen shot.
OK I've done that. See attached. All I have to do from there is click on Request Indexing.
That happens to me as well. But I always try later - sometimes several times and it eventually works out at the end.
Thanks for posting those screenshots. Mine doesn't come up with that screen, just an error.
The URL Inspection tool takes over from the Fetch As Google Personally I don't like this new change or the looks of it
It just inspects the status of an already indexed URL. It doesn't allow you to request indexing.
Yes it does it will tell you if you would like the url to request indexing after it has inspected it
This might help Making a URL Indexing Request on the new Google Search Console
Unfortunately, we do I don't like the look nor the way it is set out I still prefer the older version and at the moment i don't' feel it is as user-friendly as before.
I can't see that option anywhere. It just has a search box to inspect a URL and that's all there is on my screen. The rest of the screen is greyed out.
After you have inspected the url you will have the chance to request indexing. So it is still possible it just looks different
I like it better. It's way easier to use and seems faster. It doesn't have the anti-spam step either.
I have had that too many times other times it works still I don't like the new version to me Google has let itself down with this change. The old version was so much better and you could do more.
