Potential Unleashed

January 1 is a new start, a new beginning with endless possibilities. I'm a preschool teacher. I work with 3 years olds. Most children entered my classroom in August. It is exciting to look over the past months of great achievement and growth. From crying when parents leave them in a new unfamiliar environment, to racing up to me each morning jumping up into my arms with a big squeeze and squeal of delight in feeling the anticipation of what fun the day will reveal. Their potential is unleashed into a world where children are sponges who soak up everything their little eyes can behold.

No Discrimination

Knowing no real fear or preconceived notions about the three "d's" - diversity, difference, or dissimiliarities within the class roster. Children don't see color. What they see is friendship, playmates, opportunity, discovery, windows to the universe that is theirs to explore. Theeir openness and optimism are contagious.

My Joy

Seeing a the look of excitment on the face of a child over something as simple as pulling out paints, building a tall building out of legos and watching it fall with a crash, racing with cars and trucks, and running toward the all important swings on the playground... that is what brings me joy. Planning and preparing experiences to help each child discover his world around him... that is what brings me joy. Watching innocence investigate relationships with others... that is what brings me joy.

Strolling On

I look on toward the next year with total excitement as I stroll leisurely across the horizon of expansion. The savanah is wide open for the 3 year olds in my classroom. I'm thrilled to witness each one to stroll on with confidence and pride.

Good post ! Could not help feeling how it related to wa when we first started and got to make our first website ha ha !
All the best for the new year !!

Hi, Shena.
I enjoyed reading this post, particularly as I’m the grandfather of a three year old who attends pre-school and loves granddad to build a lego tower so that he can knock it down.
Best wishes,
Steve.

Happy and prosperous New year!
🙂

Such an enjoyable post.... may 2019 bring your more joy while guiding our future leaders. All the best!

I am more into every day is a new start a new beginning, because if you see it like this when you open up your eyes after a rest/recovering period it's a new beginning.
But of course in our western way it's 1 January as the new beginning of the year, but living in Lao PDR we celebrate also the Chinese new year's celebration, in the beginning, of February (5 if am correct) and then the Buddhist new year around 13 April.

So new can look at in different ways
Have a great weekend
Tommy

Thank you Shena, it is wonderful to see the joy simple things bring to prekindergarten children. You are really fortunate.

Thanks for sharing that. I enjoyed reading about your kids. If only everyone saw the world through children’s eyes. Their innocence is a beautiful thing. :) Wishing you great success in the new year.
