Indexing is somewhat random but there are ways to speed up the process:
1) Use a plugin such as All In One SEO to create a sitemap for your site. Once created, submit it to the search engines.
2) Use the Fetch as Google tool to fetch your post's URL and then request indexing.
3) Submit your URL to the search engines such as Bing Webmaster Tools, etc.
Mine are usually indexed within an hour of doing the above.
In your Google Search Console account go to Index > Sitemaps and submit the URL of your sitemap.
In your Bing Webmaster Tools account go to Dashboard > Configure My SIte > SItemaps and submit the URL of your sitemap.
To request indexing on Google go to the Fetch as Google tool (https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/googlebot-fetch), provide the URL of the post and click Fetch. After the post has been fetches you should see a button for Request Indexing. Click it.
To request indexing on Bing Webmaster Tools go to Dashboard > Configure My SIte > Submit URLs and submit the URL of your post.
You can also use a tools such as this one to submit your sites to other search engines as well:

Hi, have you joined google webmaster yet? When you do you will submit a site map to them and you will find you get indexed much quicker. Don’t worry if this is over your head, as you will do it as part of the training here. Just go step by step. Thanks
How how did you do it I'm totally lost I can't even see my website somebody help I don't understand the avatar I had to choose any of these computer things I've had my own businesses I've had other people set up my website I know how to run it I just don't understand the computer or even my homepage
