Should We Give Up?
Have you been knocking on many doors so to speak only to have them slammed in your face? Are you tired of rejection and feeling like it is never going to work? That maybe you are never going to find your own special niche? That maybe you should stick to that 9-5 working for someone else, it sure looks easier when many of your efforts are being pushed down, rejected, and even laughed at? I can tell you I have had thoughts like this, do I really have what it takes? Why can’t others see what I see?
The good news is that if you have been rejected, laughed at and questioned on your vision , you are in good company.
1. Mark Zuckerberg
In the year 2003 who would have thought that a simple idea of socially connecting people in the virtual world would take over the world? Mark Zuckerberg did! Mark had a vision, he totally changed the way the we connect with family, friends and even strangers around the world. His ideas were rejected many times, but he kept pushing and look at him now- is is one of the wealthiest man on the planet.
2. Stephen Edwin King American author of contemporary horror, supernatural fiction, suspense, science fiction, and fantasy. He has sold more than 350 million copies of his books but before that, his most renowned and first book, Carrie, was rejected thirty times. It was Kings wife who took the manuscript out of the garbage and convinced him to submit it one more time.
3. Henry Ford
When Ford tried to present his project of a motor to a group of industrialists, nobody listened, they thought he was crazy and his ideas would never work. For them, what Ford presented was way too far out there, too expensive, something that people would not be interested in - crazy. However, Thomas Edison, his friend did encourage him, and today everybody is reaping the benefits of Ford’s idea: affordable vehicles for an average citizen. We all need friends like Edison who can encourage us when everyone else is skeptical.
There are so many stories of people out there who give up, where they felt they gave it 150% and still were not able to make that dream happen. However there are also stories of people that did not care what it took, they were going to make it happen, they can see their vision working and they are not going to stop until the world can see it as well!
What if you knew it would only take one more door, one more phone call, one more e-mail, one more meeting…that everything you have been working for would come true. Or what If you could see your future and you could see that you still needed to go through more rejections, hard work and persistence to get to your goal, but were NOW living your dream. Would you still give up?

The day you give up is when success was right there! You never know, so never give up!
I won't, and by chance if I ever want too, I'll remember this picture and post, but for sure this picture. Success was just inches away and he walked away. For his sake, I hope that he returned a few hours later and continued from where he left off!

I know, the guy in the illustration was SO close. I actually found this illustration a few years ago and it has helped me continue to move forward! You just never know how close you are unless you keep going :) !! I hope he went back as well!

A rejection or someone telling me it can't be done has always given me more motivation just to prove them wrong ;)

About Mark though,
As much as I would love to give him the credit. He did steal the Idea from a few school kids from Harvard. Students who hired him during his college days, he settled in court over it. But still got to keep, facebook. Its a crazy story if you haven't read it or watched the movie about it. Good stuff :)
Hi Alex, Thanks for reading my blog and yes, I have read the book and watched the movie. I know there is a opinion that he stole the idea, but I can also tell you I think there is always another side to a story. :) No matter what, to get to where he is today would have come with tremendous struggle and opposition and I do admire him for that.
