A 5-Month Look Back and Breakdown: How My Website and Traffic Are Growing
A while back, I mentioned that I’d share how my main website was doing and now felt like the right time to look back at the last 5 months and break it all down.
This whole journey really came together thanks to a platform I joined last year that taught me how to build websites, track data, and connect with people using content I actually care about.
What started as a side hobby has become something much bigger and a lot of that momentum came from learning how to structure my content across multiple traffic sources.
Here’s how it’s been going.
Facebook: The Hub That Started It All
I’ve been working to turn my Facebook page into more than just a social account. I’ve treated it like the hub of everything , blog links, book teasers, daily insights, and visual content drops.
Over the past 5 months, here’s what that effort produced
- 312,000 views total
- 182.1K reach
- 9.1K content interactions
Top post performance:
- “If Bigfoot is just a myth…”
→ 17.8K views, 482 reactions, 271 comments, 65 shares
- “Nearly every continent…”
→ 16.2K views, 587 reactions, 128 comments - “Night Thought”
→ 3.6K views, 161 reactions, 34 comments - “Before we called him Bigfoot…”
What stands out most isn’t just the numbers — it’s how much engagement each post gets. The comments, shares, and saves show this is more than entertainment for people. They care, they believe, and they want to be part of it.
Facebook has officially become my real-time testing ground and audience connection point.
- 369.5K impressions
- 10.06K engagements | 2.1K saves
- My highest outbound traffic source to both the website and books
Sorry i'm not showing the content for this it promotes my brand and the numbers tell the same story
- 34.6K views
- 6.1K reach | 4.4K interactions
- 82% organic traffic
- Engagement is growing slowly but steadily
I’ve been experimenting here more visually, using snippets from the blog and book artwork to draw in cryptid fans. It’s a slower burn, but it’s starting to connect.
Google Search Console
- 2.88K impressions | 23 clicks
- CTR: 0.8%
- Average Position: 63.1
- Top queries: “mothman legend” and “bigfoot story”
Still early days here, but the signs are good. I’m seeing steady growth month over month as more long-form blogs get indexed and start showing up. but i do have to fix a lot of keywords can change them to long tailed keywords but that a work in progress still getting traffic.
Bing Webmaster Tools
- 14K impressions | 216 clicks
- CTR: 1.54%
- Ranking keywords include “are skin walkers real” and “werewolf transformation”
Bing has been surprisingly valuable for long-tail keywords in the paranormal and survival niches. I’m going to double down on this over the next few months with some targeted articles.
Book Sales: Staying Steady
- 9 books published
- 7 months straight of at least 2 books sold per month
- A few are now starting to rank and convert consistently
The steady growth is showing me that the content strategy is working especially when tied to real engagement across platforms. One of the coolest thing was i learn how to make the books for free and not one but has cost me a dime to make just time itself.
Wrapping It Up
These aren’t jaw-dropping numbers or big-money results not yet. That’s because I’ve been focused on building books, not just pushing products. But here’s the bigger picture.
This site isn’t just meant to sell. It’s designed to funnel visitors into two other sites, which then guide people toward my affiliate platform and that’s where the real growth happens. So far, that looped strategy has helped me sign up 23 new Wealthy Affiliate members all organically, just by connecting the dots across everything I’ve built.
Now with YouTube launching soon and everything syncing together, I honestly believe these numbers will triple by fall.
So What’s Next?
The past five months were all about testing, tracking, and learning. I’ve seen what works. I’ve cleaned up what doesn’t. And I’ve laid down a solid foundation to build on.
Now it’s time to scale it with momentum, clarity, and all the insights I’ve gathered along the way.
Thanks for following along. And if you’re building something of your own, just know:
It gets better with every step you take.
👣 Stay wild , Shawn

Good morning Roy, really appreciate the kind words! It’s been a wild learning curve but a rewarding one for sure. I’ve still got a long way to go, but documenting it has definitely kept me grounded and focused.

It's a pleasure, Shawn!
I think this is the importance of documenting that it helps to keep us focused and grounded, etc, which is great. It's also a way of almost monitoring progress, which can help to keep us motivated.
Wishing you all the best.
Roy
Absolutely agree, Roy. Documenting everything has been one of the biggest game changers for me. It keeps me grounded, helps me spot what’s actually working, and gives me that extra push on the tough days.
Appreciate the support and the insight as always. Wishing you continued success as well, and looking forward to what we both build next.

I am so impressed with all of the work you've done and the tenacity and determination to keep building.
Thank you so much, JarieLyn! It’s definitely been a grind, and I know I still have a long way to go but one thing I’ve learned is that just showing up each day and posting something really adds up over time. To be honest I feel like time is flying but I really enjoy my niche too, and it feels more like a hobby then a business to me. I really appreciate you noticing the effort that gave me a boost!
