LinkShare, now known as Rakuten, and Commission Junction are affiliate networks, as are Awin and ShareASale. An affiliate network is a company which handles all the tracking and payment for various merchants. Usually they all have hundreds or thousands of merchants on each network, making it much easier for affiliates to work with multiple programs through a single interface. I work for Awin. When I was an affiliate, I preferred programs to be on networks because then I could log into one place and see how all of my merchants were performing rather than logging into a bunch of individual in-house programs.
Oh yes, absolutely. You can join multiple networks as well as Wealthy Affiliate. Wealthy Affiliate is not a network. It is a training program with an in-house affiliate program.
A lot of companies source their affiliate marketing out to companies. These companies handle numerous stores products. Like Pottery Barn may give their affiliate program to a different company to like these 2 to handle. there are many many companies like this.
