I really like reading the blogs. Sometimes they are brand new ideas and sometimes they remind me of good habits I have gotten away from. I just read about Don't kill your Golden Goose. I really liked the story. It reminded me of some training I had a few years back from a Steven Covey class. It was a good habit I used for many years but as my life and job changed I guess I quit.

All you do is take 15 minutes each morning to plan your day. At first you think I don't have 5 seconds of free time a day much less 15 minutes, but you would be surprised how much more you get done. First you look at the day before and see if you had things not done you had planned. Now you decide do I need to do it today or can it wait. During the day you physically check off each item you finish. There is something physiological that makes you feel good about that check mark. You will be surprised how this works. You don't always finish all you planed, especially if you have a family but it keeps you focused on things you need to accomplish.
