User Registrations
Not sure if this a problem, but I have to ask. Over the past few months I have been receiving emails informing me of a "New Registration on your site". There is always an email address and a user name. I was confused as I did not understand what this meant. Since my return to working on my site I have been reviewing the Wordpress portal. I have found in the tab "Users" that there are 288 users listed as "Administrators". Is this a problem or a good thing, there is an option to delete these users, should I do that or is Thisbe something I should leave? Robert

Hi Robert not so good.
Try this to stop folks from registering as users.
- Go To Wordpress Dashboard.
- Stroll down, Click on SETTINGS
-Next , click on GENERAL, now stroll down
-See MEMBERSHIP, Remove check [ ] Anybody can register
-Now, Stroll down, To New USERS Default Role, CLICK on AUTHOR [ ]
-Stroll down, SAVE changes at bottom.
Get rid of the users currently there and change the password to your web site.

Hi, Robert not to worry, it is just one of those things that can happen. I had a similar situation, once we have it sorted it will be plain sailing. A lot of those users are not real people but rather bots.

Hi Alex, I have now deleted these ‘users’. Most of the emails for these looked like bots. Thanks again for your help, WA is great for these situations. Cheers Robert

I find your situation strange, like as if you have been infiltrated.
My understanding is that as a website owner you are the administrator of it, you have the last word so to speak.
You have not given permission for all these administrators, right? I would kick them out.
