Killing Net Neutrality - Should We Be Concerned?

Net Neutrality is on the chopping block so what does that mean to the independent marketer?

The proposal, as I understand, would make it voluntary for providers to uphold net neutrality principles by including their position in the terms of service with customers.

One fear of this proposal is that internet speed will go to those that are willing to pay for it. The concern for smaller companies is they won't have the capital to be able to run with the Big Dogs.

The fear is they could impede traffic from smaller providers to favor their own services or possibly impose tolls on the little guy inhibiting consumer choice.

How does it impact WA member? I am not sure it does but we it is worthwhile to follow the analysis and articles to learn more.

Read the Net Neutrality legislation before endorsing it. Also look up what had to be put in place before it could be proposed.

FYI - don't be fooled by a nice name and a huge marketing campaign.

Hi Rick! It seems like this tactic is duplicating itself in many phases of the internet, as well! Mind over matter, or rather money over matter. Great post!

Erin :)!

Money and influence will always come out on top.

It is a cause for concern but I am afraid there is no much we can do about it. Rich and mighy always get their way.

I have not read the articles on Net Neutrality so I can't give an informed opinion.

Oh boy... well if they really do start charging us, then I can't afford to keep this up.

Concerned YES.

Consolidating internet services in a few big companies and allowing them to do what they want makes it possible for them to control what we can see and what messages we get.

That is concerning

It's already like that. Higher bandwidth on other web hosts than WA!
