the theme comes in a plug-in not add new themes so if you download a zip plugin file you have to add it as a new plugin to install it. GeneratePress theme is already there but if you're wanting the Pro theme they give you a zip file do download then you go to Plugin New add new then open zip file and viola the theme works.
Steve, when all else fails, you can submit a ticket to Site Support, and they will get you squared away. Use the help tab at the top of the page.

If you’re installing and activating the theme then you’re probably just not realizing that the blank look to your site is, in fact, the theme you installed. It’ll look a little blank at first and that’s where customization comes in. You’ll learn more about that as your progress, don’t worry.
Hi - do remember that a theme doesn't come fully customised with all the images that you see.
In effect, it just shows you what it could look like when you add your own customisation.
Hi Steve,
in the dashboard of the site itself, go to theme, you will find all the themes there. When you click to activate, the content of the theme will be opened and you have the option to delete it. Do not delete the main Twenty TT.

To change your theme, here is what to do.
You may go to Appearance > Themes and add new.
Input what you are looking for, install and activate.
Your content will be left intact, you may lose out on CSS styles and social media icons if that, however with a bit of tweaking and you are done.
We always recommend you leaving a back up theme, you may od with the Twenty TwentyTwo.
I hope this helps
However, if still cannot manage? Please reach out to site support

To change your theme, here is what to do.

Input what you are looking for, install and activate.

Save the screen shots as an image on your local drive, then go to insert it via an image block (pull the image from your pc and not the library) in WP.
-Mike
The screen shots are saved on my desktop as PDFs. Is that OK? Or do they need to me JPEG, png ? or anything else.
Whenever I make a screen sot, lit gets saved to my desktop as a PDF. I have my. Sis saved to my desktop, then can do what I want with them.
Let me be sure I understand your directions correctly. Have the SS on my computer, then drag and drop it where it goes in the message. Is that correct?
Thanks for all your help and the great posts

When choosing a theme you must hover your mouse over the theme until a popup appears the says "choose theme".
Click on that THEN click the green tab that says "build my website"
Don't click the link above that which is where you received the "No Wordpress account" notification.
Sorry for your struggles (both with WA and your vision), but it looks like you are well covered here with some excellent advice and guidance.
Most start with GeneratePress; is that the theme you are choosing?
Please let us know if you still have any questions.

Thanks again, Mike.
Mike, I have no idea what GeneratePress is, or where it its.
Appreciate your help.
It’s a free theme in WordPress that is used in much of the training and is easy to use and looks good.

Hi Steve, you are not required ot purchase theme - under the appearance>>themes section of your website are thousands of free or fremium themes...
these are all available for you to use...
they are within the wordpress program - not the wordpress.com site...
the wordpress.com site is a hosting site... you do not need to purchase an account there either...
so the process for creating a site is:
to choose whether to create one on a free siterubix subdomain or on a domain you have purchased...
to create a unique name for the domain - this cannot be changed - if selecting a free siterubix or choosing the domain you bought...
adding a displayed name to the site....
and choosing a theme...this can be easily changed once your site is built...
then clicking build my site....
once you have built it then you can change your theme by going to appearance>>theme>>add new and choosing popular or lates and you can select from over 3000 themes...
all free...or having a premium option ( but choosing wisley you may not need this)
I can understand about your vision issue. My Dad had it. I really can relate. My question to you is what theme are you using. You should be using GeneratePress lite. Its free, you dont need the Pro version now GeneratePress lite is easy to use its already there. Other members here can help guide you to get it going,
I did see this video maybe if you use /zoom to watch this, it might help you How To Build A Modern 6 Page Website For FREE with Generate Press https://docs.generatepress.com/article/installing-generatepress/

if you click on the search analysis tab and enter the keyword you can see who is on page one of google....
if you recognize them all as high authority sites - can you add masses over and above what they have written - if so then maybe go for it...
but the seo column wants to be in the very high 90's for this...
and still goto google and check the results...
You can also check out other sources or modify the keywords to play around with them. I was in the free version of SemRush, and I found a lot of goldmines there for topic keyword research. They are tools, after all. Not perfect as Google autosuggest, where you type keywords in Google
Look for searches (avg.) above 30 and competition (QSR. ) lower than 100; the lower the QSR the better. Starter sites SEO greater than 95.

For your choice of keywords, always do an incognito search on Google before settling on a keyword to see who appears on Google Page 1
Or you may do in Jaaxy tool search analysis.

You’re welcome!
If the keyword is very broad, like “electric car” and your site is new, you won’t rank well for it on Google,
However, you could use a long-tail keyword that contains the words electric car and eventually you would rank for both keywords.
