Are you a make a "list to do" person?
We are all busy with life's daily routines. Some are efficient and productive while others are really busy but not accomplishing much. I slip into the really busy but accomplishments fall short category. I'm not doing this intentionally, just seems to happen. "Old habits die hard". I am a list person as I believe many of us are, unless your fortunate enough to possess a photographic memory, never needing to be reminded. Yes I would be speaking of that daily to do list, which is just one of the lists I create daily. There in lies my problem of inefficiency. I spend more time making lists than I do accomplishing the tasks on the list. Furthermore, my to do list includes tasks that can't be accomplished in a day. Needless to say, not a whole lot of items are being checked off my list as being done, which gives me the feeling of failure.
In order to reverse this feeling of non- productiveness I have to revise my to do list into time allocations for each task. This way I can at least complete my list on a daily basis. Even though I may not be able to complete each task, I am able to accomplish my daily goals by spending the a-lotted time designated to each task.
I'm sure I'm not breaking any new ground here with unprecedented wisdom and knowledge, just a reminder to myself and hopefully helpful info for others on how to accomplish daily goals more efficiently.
And as my wife often informs me, "I'm not procrastinating, I'm still doing yesterday"
