My First Year as a Premium Member has ben MARVELous
Black Friday 2022 marks the completion of my first year as a Premium member at WA. I am reaching retirement age and I know that I need to supplement our lifestyle with passive income so my wife and I can enjoy retirement some day. I found WA through research - the same way many members have probably found it. I took some the free training and then signed up for a month and continued. I did a lot of research on the opportunity so that I could explain to my wife what I had found and why I thought it would be the best opportunity. Finally, when the Black Friday special became available, I knew it was time to have a chat with my wife and explain what I had been doing. She could see the opportunity was good and encouraged me to become a premium member.
The First Year Has Been SlowI started off going through the training at a steady pace, but began to get bogged down with many things. First, I still have a part-time office job that I work from home. Then in 2020, I had begun supplementing our income as a delivery driver for DoorDash. I thought it would be important to continue to get immediate cash, so I continued this gig work. I told myself (and my wife) that I would only drive occasionally and the rest of the time I would work on my website. That isn't how it worked out, and I found myself out on the road more and more. Recently, I realized that I had fallen into a trap. I was sacrificing our future on the altar of the immediate. Have you ever done that? I knew that the success of our future would be in the business that I was building, but yet I felt we needed immediate cash. I was continually telling my wife that we needed the cash, so I would hit the road. Doing this also caused our expenses to go up as I kept putting money into the car. It felt like we had cash, but I would put repairs on a charge card that I needed to pay off. A few weeks ago, I finally told my wife that I needed to stop the delivery work and focus on the business. I suggested that I would get off work at 5 and then we would do something together - prepare a meal, play a game, work a puzzle, take a walk - whatever we wanted to do. Then at 7, I would start working on our new business. I even asked her to be my manager and to help me stick to this schedule. There are some nights where I don't work on WA. We are involved in a local symphonic chorus, so we attend rehearsal on Monday nights. We also have other date nights, but now I definitely have set times to sit down to train and write with WA. It has been working, and I have seen my content increase.
Another aspect that has slowed down my progress is family issues. I have an elderly mother that is nearing the end of her life. Earlier this year, she and her husband had to move from residential care in to assisted living. I needed to help with this move. I didn't mention that they live 500 miles away. I have made several trips this year, sometimes alone, sometimes with my brother and sometimes with my wife, to be a help to her. Her husband died in July. She is totally bedridden and cannot do anything for herself. Needless to say, I have had to set aside the WA training because of these things.
I Am Excited about My NicheAs I began my training, I decided that I wanted to develop my website around super heroes, especially Marvel and the Avengers. There has been quite a bit of excitement since 2008 when the first Iron Man movie came out. My family has really enjoyed these stories; my grandchildren enjoy collecting toys, modes and Legos of the different super heroes.
I have just finished Level 2 training and I have written 4 articles. My domain has been indexed by Google and one of my articles now appears in a Google search - on the first page! I am really excited about that. I have received some good comments and readers are really engaged in my blogs. I look forward to writing more articles and I receive more and more ideas as visitors leave comments.
I plan to be an affiliate for Amazon and other sites that sell the products that I will promote. Along the way, I will promote different models and Legos, and I may even provide links for purchasing collections of the comic books from yesteryear.
I hope you will have a chance to stop by www.superherocollectors.com.
