How do I create landing pages in joomla ?
I need a landing page in Joomla but not showing on any menus on the home page. Anyone know how to do this?
Hi, Joomla is another CMS, similar to WordPress in some ways but is generally designed for larger sites with tons of large files etc.
I understand Jay (magistudios) upgraded to Joomla a while back!

Has anyone done a website for a private gp? Ive been asked to one but the local search volume is very poor! Did anyone have the same problem?
My starting point for a local business is to see them dominate there 'brand name' in the google search locally. They maynot get alot of traffic, but it shoudl be highly targeted and therefore effective. Using WordPress and the free google + business local page will help this happen. ... hey i actually just wrote an article on this, how cool. Google Plus for Local Business Rocks! hope this helps.
Well if it is local traffic the GP needs, it is going to be considerably smaller. Generally when you create a site for a business you are creating a set amount of content with a static homepage, Keywords should be focused on the nature of the business. But the content rules higher than keywords as the site will be promoted in other ways anyway eg, business cards, letter heads, newspaper ads etc

Someone has asked if they can have a video playing on their Facebook timeline cover instead of just an image. Does anyone know if this can be done?
I don't think so. Like the cover page? I think you can post a video to your timeline but not on your cover page.

Xmap doesnt seem to work in Joomla 3.3! Does anyone know of a sitemap generator that will work in Joomla 3.3?
Hi Scott,
What doesn't seem to work?
I am using xmap and running on Joomla 3.3.6 and everything seems to be running smoothly.
I don't use Joomla, so I might be talking through my backside here (perhaps a not uncommon occurrence), but I Googled it and got
http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/structure-a-navigation/site-map
This may help until a Joomla bod answers you .
Hi Catherine
I've seen that one as well. I was hoping for a free one but I appreciate you taking the time to answer. Thank you :-)
Scottie
Maybe you should answer your own question because if you are looking for one so is someone else

Does anyone know if Jaaxy is good for finding local keywords for clients in the UK, for example "Southampton"?
Hi - yes, just add "southampton" to your phrase when you're searching.
Eg. "turkish takeaways in Southampton" - and your search should be narrowed (maybe add UK too in case there is a Southampton elsewhere).
Cheers, Mark
Hi Scott,
Jaaxy is global, mainly based on Google thus if you do your searches in Google whilst in Southampton, you should do just fine.
If I could afford it, I would jump at it. Fora tener you can't go wrong, mate!
