A Watched Affiliate Pot Never Boils… $23.64 of Encouragement
I signed on to WA several months ago. I was very gung-ho and planning to make my first $10K by the end of the year.
I followed the training voraciously. I set up my website, and drafted a few pages.
I finally figured out a few good "low hanging fruit" keywords to target, wrote a review, and monetized it with Amazon.com links.
I closely watched and waited, and watched and complained about how my page wasn't ranking the way I had hoped. Nothing was happening fast enough. My $10K was never going to get here, and I was discouraged.
Then, life blind-sided me.
My father's cancer started getting worse. I dropped everything I was working on to be at his side and tend to his needs. That $10K I was working so hard on didn't seem so important anymore.
But, it was a false alarm. Dad was going to be OK.
One dizzying week later, after I returned home and returned to my endeavors, I made a very cool discovery:
My one little web page had earned $23.60 while I was completely avoiding my new website business.
It's not a lot of money, and it was from several weeks of work, but it proves the system works. And it's a lot like farming: you plant a web page like a seed, you water it and tend to it, then you step away and allow the nature of the Internet to take its course.
Amazon deposited my $23.60 in the bank a few days ago. Next month, I'm expecting $18.20 from that same page. Imagine what it will be like when I have 10 or 20 of these pages. Or, 50 of them. Or a hundred.
Big things can come from small starts. What I know now is that I need to focus on following the training, planting those healthy seeds, and letting them do their thing.
I am encouraged and writing pages again, and I hope this little story encourages you, too.
