Can someone help me? Tell me how many internal links are set up correctly in my website. I've been trying to add them. Then, I have to delete them. I'm totally confused.

I want to thank everyone who answered my call for help. Great suggestions - they are easier said than done, at this point. Appreciate all of the input. You guys rock!!
Sue

You've gotten some great responses..are you getting it figured out?

Well, I'm on it now. I WILL figure this out!
Thanks for checking on me!

This little video should help you understand how to place links in your text and images

Internal links are links that point from one of your page or post to another of your page or post that is relevant to the topic.

I will use one of your posts as an example - UNITY CANDLES FOR WEDDINGS

In that post, you added one internal link. It was found in this sentence below, taken from your post:

If, upon prior agreement between the marriage participants and the pastor or minister, the use of the Unity candle ceremony is included, the ritual candles must be lit from The Paschal Candle (https://candleholderslargeandsmall.com/the-paschal-candle-and-the-catholic-church). The only other stipulation is the unity candles must NOT be placed on the altar.

You have placed the link within brackets. Instead of doing that, you should make the words - The Paschal Candle - linked to that internal link. Do not display the link in the text as you did.

Remember these few tips too:

1. Internal links are good. But they should be done only when you are pointing to another of your post that is relevant to the topic you are writing or to that sentence. Which you did in this case - Excellent!

But do remember this. Never create an internal link for the sake of an internal link. Nothing frustrates visitors more than clicking to an internal link that is not relevant to what they are reading. Also, search bots do not approve of this.

2. Have one or a few internal links is ok. But do not go overboard. Too many links does not equal good SEO.

Hope the above helps. Let me know if you need further clarification or help.

May everything you do succeed & prosper! :)

Hi,

I read someone said you need 2 internal links, 1 external link and 1 back link, to be ranked better in Google.

Sue

Hi Sue,

No one really knows the magic number or combination except Google. You can give it a try.

I wouldn't say how many internal links you have in your website but at least I found one of them that is not place in the right way as hyperlink

it's not a HYPERLINK? I'll have to read about that one!
Thanks!

Yes - I know it doesn't look good. But, at least I got it in there. These are my tasks today. Thank you for helping.
Sue

If they are set up properly they when you click on the from your site view they should lead to a different one of your posts.
Here is an example say your newest post is about colors and you have 2 existing posts about red and the other about blue. Well if you have the internal links set up go to view your website and click one of them should lead back to your post about red while the other one when you click on it it should lead you back to your post about blue.

yes, I am learning about everything you say Thank You. I will read this again! Happy Wednesday.

I followed your instructions and found the WA links. I used pretty links to shorten it. But, when it got on my blog, it was shortened, but it wasn't a link. It was just the cod

I hope you solve your problem

Hi Sue,
If you want to insert a link in your blog you may do you so by clicking the "Insert Link" icon on the top of the new blog post tools - see image.

Hope this helps...Charles

Thanks Charles,

I'm trying to add it to one of my blogs. You see, I am getting the code words, not the link. I will try this. THANKS
Sue

There are many links for WA, which one did you try to use?

m,
I used pretty links. The links are shortened, but they aren't links. They are words...

The answer to your question depends on which link you're trying to insert. I didn't really want to include all these here, just whichever one you need.

Maybe you shouldn't shorten it. It's no need to do it

I just contacted site support. I shortened it just fine - but it shows in my blog as just the code. No link.

Happy typing!
Sue

my site is 3 weeks old. When I tried to add Adsense, I played with plug ins, widgets, and directions from 4 different people.
Then, chat people told me not to use Adsense.

I had a problem almost like yours, it just forced me to remove and close down one of my websites.

If you're looking at your site from a desktop or laptop perhaps you accidentally clicked on the Ctrl key plus the + sign which made your browser bigger. (My cat does that sometimes when she walks across the keyboard). If that's the case then hold down the Ctrl and tap the zero (0) key.

The other thing it could be is the built-in magnifying glass. Reboot your computer if you can't get it fixed.

Hello there,

You should try changing your template and theme. Sometimes certain templates allow space for sidebars and widgets, sometimes they don't. Look for a template that has widgets and sidebars built in. Same with the theme you choose. Hope this helps!

Linda

thanks Linda,
The problem is i had all this. the site is just so large, you can't see it all! my fonts are gigantic. The menu is gone. Something else is wrong, because they were all there.
But, thank you for the adviiice. Maybe I'll do that!
