Writing Slump!
Hi everyone! My goal was to blog on a daily basis. I thought to myself "How hard can it be?". Well, it turns out it's not as easy as I thought (or wanted) it to be. I kept asking myself "What should I talk about now?", but kept coming up short. In fact, it was making me tired (and grouchy).
So, I took a few hours off. I watched a movie, and then hopped on the computer for a few games. Now, I always have to listen to music while playing games. And that's when it hit me! I wanted to write! This blog is the result of the music I was listening to. It inspired me to say something, even if it was just "Hey, I don't know what to say".
Everyone gets stuck at times. The key is to sit back, relax and refocus during those times. If you do that, it will come to you. And you will find your inspiration!

It does get hard to write and knowing what to write about. You will do great after a break.
Hi Savonne. Yes writing slumps are common. Glad you found something that got you inspired again. :) Beverley
A break every now and then can do you the world of good, Savonne. Just got to rest our brains for a while and let them recharge. Glad you got your inspiration to write back again.
Sometimes a break will help, Savonne. Good for you for finding a way around your writer's block. A way I find helpful is to pick a word or phrase out of the air, and place it in a circle in the center of a piece of blank paper. Then I draw a line from that center and place a word, circled, connecting to the center and just stream-of-consciousness keep adding words and circles. Sometimes they're connected to the center word, sometimes they spread out from other words I've written down. It's amazing what you can write about when all those words are connected and staring you in the face.
Indeed, sometimes just saying you're stumped is the right thing to do. In my career as a counselor, I advise many clients to journal and have them just write down their stream of consciousness if they can't think of anything specific. Sometimes that's how the most valuable insights come out.
