Hello, fellow WA-ffers.

I hope everyone is doing well.

I have always wondered what it took to be an entrepreneur.

Would it be one's self-motivation and perseverance to become successful online as well as in the physical world?

Or, can there be more to being an entrepreneur besides one's mindset and attitude?

I struggle with the idea of being an entrepreneur, because, although I am looking to create something new, innovative, or creative, am I losing touch with reality, of what goes on around me? I say this, because I find myself in a predicament. I find myself wanting to change the world without actually knowing what is happening around the world. Everything changes in an instant. What we perceive in one instance may be outdated when we try to implement it in the next instant.

So, then, I ask myself... how does one become a successful entrepreneur and still be in touch with the world? For one, I find that defining who you are, such as in a certain profession (such as CPA, MD, Esq.) or in a group (such as Rotary Club, etc), may help you to keep in touch with the changes that are happening around you, while figuring out how we can make an impact on our community. Number 1, as I had mentioned, a group, such as the mini-WA community which I had referred to in my last blog, may help keep us all grounded. There are benefits in talking with others, in a sense that we do not lose a sense of community. We need this sense of community, to be exposed to different perspectives and be able to stay in touch with reality, because reality always changes and we need to keep up-to-date with what is happening around us. Being an entrepreneur is not just being an individual with creative or innovative ideas. Being successful as an entrepreneur is also defined by his or her awareness of the people around him or her. If all we did was rely on technology, our business will not last long, because technology cannot forecast the distant future. This is the same technology that gets outdated every few years. How useful would they be in 5-10 years down the road?

Number 2, I said a profession before, because it gives a person, an individual a sense of purpose to do something significant for oneself in one's community, because he/ she is "mindful" and motivated by what he/ she can do to improve the lives of the people around him/ her. The entrepreneur is also mindful of the changes that may be in his/ her profession, which keeps the entrepreneur mindful as to whether such changes have a positive or negative impact to his/ her community. One way or another, we have to interact and get to know the people around us, in order to become successful.

Interacting, which could be unilateral at first, would be the awareness we get from the news or information in general, which reflects the beliefs of the community at a specific point in time. But, it would eventually become bilateral when we, as entrepreneurs, do something to in response to the information we are given. But beware, such beliefs within our communities have a tendency to change, so we would always need to pay attention to what is happening around us. To understand this, would help us figure out the needs of the people. Such understanding would help establish the entrepreneur as not just an individual, but as a person of society. We must be both in an ever-changing world. My word of advice is be a professional where you can be your own boss. and yet, still be mindful about your environment. Or, be in a group, where people can help you see clearly of what is going on around you. If you could do either, or could do both, you will be able to accomplish a lot as a successful entrepreneur. You would be a "successful, mindful entrepreneur". So, let WA be your training ground to the world, and start to develop relationships that will keep you grounded.

I realize that this may bring up a lot of debate, for what I have said may be a bit impractical. But seeing your comments will help keep me grounded as well :)

Thank you for reading.

Awesome post on awareness and entrepreneur ship. Thank you.

Hi, great advice. Irv.

Very good blog, Mr. Blogger! I guess my take is that if you want to focus on success as an entrepreneur then you might want to focus attention around your selected niche. Attempt to understand the world surrounding you niche and work to become a knowledgeable expert. Find and surround yourself with people who share your same passion. WA is also a great pace to get to know people with similar goals and like experiences. I will look for those that I can use as mentors.

So much to read and nearly spilt my coffee!!!

Misster Blogger, a very interesting read. When you add in that a lot of people in WA are not from the same country as you are it also adds to the complication of defining reality. Most people are dealing with events and not focusing on the root causes. They never think pass the event and think about WHY. Just my thoughts

Percy

Thanks, Percy.
My hope through a mindful approach is that they eventully will look at the root causes. :)

My pleasure, Kenneth!!
Thank you for following!!!
