A Community-Driven Affiliate Marketing Approach
I came into this not knowing about a community-based affiliate marketing approach. And yet, here I am in Wealthy Affiliate. I see great potential for this organization, which I believe has greater potential to evolve over time versus the current way affiliate marketing is established. From Live Chats to the Discussions, it may become more crucial and necessary to communicate our ideas in a forum-based setting, versus a lecture-type setting. What I mean by forum-based setting is that all members can provide their input simultaneously, and not need to hold back. Just being able to then go and read the comments that people write, is something that can be very valuable. The one thing I hope to see on Wealthy Affiliate is what I call a "Forum Free-for-All", where a group of people coordinate a time to meet, a topic is provided, and people starting writing whatever they want about the topic. The great thing is, this would happen all at once. A no holds barred approach if you will, where no one holds anything back, but just write whatever random thing comes to mind. No one also needs to worry about waiting until the other speakers stop. Many creative ideas can come from such sessions. There would be someone, a timer, who oversees the effectiveness of the discussion. If the discussion proves to be fruitful, then the timer will allow for such discussion(s) to continue, until everyone has nothing more to say about a topic or topics during a session. A lecture-type setting could hinder the creativity within a forum. In a lecture-based session, there is only one speaker who gives his/ her ideas and have everyone wait in turn to speak. This may not be as effective, because the speaker can go on to a different topic at any sudden moment, and the listener is stranded to just listening and not be able to input his/ her ideas. I am getting old, so I am losing my memory. When a speaker goes to a different topic, I tend to forget what I wanted to say 5 or 10 minutes before. I lost an idea that could have provided valuable insight, and allow the former topic to develop and evolve. But, unfortunately, being in school all these many years, I realize that ideas get suppressed because I would have to wait my turn until the teacher or professor stops speaking. The way that ideas are brought out, are antiquated. We must evolve, and encourage creative input, rather than discounting them and just take a book's or teacher's word at face value. I hope to see this change in communicating ideas... and for how the field of affiliate marketing may transform. We will need to start following a number of people rather than just one "guru". This will allow us to figure out for ourselves how to become successful. I also see affiliate marketing allowing us all to succeed, if we dedicate our time and energy to certain goals as a community. This will lead us to accomplishing our individual goals, because the community has built us all a foundation to work with. I believe if the community succeeds, its members will also succeed... which is why the Wealthy Affiliate approach can only help get us where we all want to be.
