Think of it like selling real estate, you own a piece of prime land that someone else has huge plans for. They want to build residential housing or commercial office space but they need your piece of land to do so. Selling your domain name is like the same thing, and some companies will pay you top dollar for your domain.

So next time you're out and about, try researching areas around your city in which are being developed. If it's a franchise company or big corporation that already has locations elsewhere, more than likely they will already have a website in place.
